Trying to buy Gene's but my horses don't show up

So I want to add the new spooky genes to my foals but they aren't showing up in the drop down box. I don't understand why? The ones I want to use are foals so they haven't been bred...please helpBreeder of the tallest drafts

They have to be foundations. You can't add genes to lined horses.Thanked by 1Alohomora

Foals can only get genes from their parents, so you can't add new genes to them. This is why new genes only go on foundations
