Horse injured her back, hoping for speedy recovery
-
This whole time has been stressful for me, so I'm posting here to get things off my chest. About a week ago, I tried to bareback my mare, and .5 seconds after I got on, her knees folded and she fell to the ground. As you can imagine I went into full panic mode. Neither I nor my trainer could find where her pain was. Luckily, the vet took a look at her and found three points on her spine that were very painful, but there didn't seem to be any skeletal issues. Unfortunately, she can't be ridden for at least 2 weeks, probably closer to a month. Who knows how she did this to herself, but now I'm just giving her bute, and doing light groundwork to keep her mind active. Picture is of her after a nice bit of walking around.

@MaraShowPonies Thank you, this is after 6 months of various bad luck injuries so I'm at my wit's end!

That’s not good at all. I would ask your vet if Acupuncture or equine massage would be okay to try for her. They might help her feel better, but I’d definitely get vet approval first.

@BlaxkDiamond I ended up getting her a massage, thank you! She is looking better, but still no riding.

Does anyone near you do Chiropractic for horses?
Our 19 old paint mare had issues, being sore on her front left until I had someone adjust her.
Just a thought.
I hope she is getting better -
My lady is doing much better! She had a massage and lots of rest, stretching, and gentle exercise. This was a couple of days ago at our first lesson since she got hurt, and she acted like a brand new horse! But not used to being worked quite yet >.<Thanked by 1Seaswell
