The fire may be long gone but the ashes remain. All horses will be black with gray brindle. A little left over holiday magic makes them exceptional producers and carry the impossible white 1 and white 2 combination.

should it not be het w2 and het w1 not hom w2 and het w1

Quite a few of the HH's are like that, the extra het W1 over-rides the homo W2. It stops extra things like W20 being added in on creation and saves over complicating the list for the HH. That's my guess anyway, the RS HH's have a few for different genes

My understanding is that a het HH always changes the second allele, which is why the original Yule Log Ashes only had W1. Both the Ws were put on the same place. The W2 has to be homozygous to change the first allele.

Hmm I posted a post here, but it has disappeared :-?

I really don't like gray because it looks unique on foals, but then horses become solid white and it masks all the patterns, anyway my new colt looks pretty:

I got Twins! Well, kind of, the first mare is darker than the second one. But, I was very surprised to get two mares with the same brindle pattern created a week apart. Very cool!

Here is the first mare I created from the SHH on Dec. 30th.

Here is the one I created on today, Jan 6th.
