This game saved my sanity...and my friend
-
So my BFF is an amateur writer, and she often tells me of ideas or scenes that she has. Well, today she told me about this scene where the main character rides into battle on a black war horse. Just about made me scream; I hate pointless clichés. But, with the help of this game and all the pretty horses, she now has a unique horse! She was really impressed with all of the examples I was able to send her, so she wanted me to say, thank you, Ammit, for making this game!

I thought this was going to be more about mental health but yeah, woo non-clichéd horse colors! :P What's her color now?
-
Oh, this game has saved my mental health about ten times over. It's also saved me from depression and severe boredom. But today it saved my sanity from having to explain horse colors without examples.
And her horse is now a Bay Apaloosa warmblood. So much cooler than a black draft, in my opinion.Thanked by 1GeneverGinger -
Shouldve used one of my twins.

@IndianaRanch, I offered fantasy horses and she said no. They had to be realistic.Thanked by 1HomeSweetHome

Me personally I prefer dark heavy mustangs with spotty butts and feathers in his mane. But I've also always been fascinated with the pictures and culture behind native american use of horses =))Thanked by 1HomeSweetHome

@InTheStars, as a historian and a member of the Cherokee and Comanchee nations, I definitely understand why that image is awe inspiring. The horses with feathers are actually the war horses, so it certainly would have fit, and I offered her that option. One thing I point out, strictly for education reasons, is the horses the plains tribes rode would be very different from the horses we call Mustang today. Those horses were much closer to the Spanish horses (primarily the African barb, Iberian horses, and Spanish Jennets) than they are to the traditional mustang we think of today.Thanked by 1BlackWyld

Oh how fun. I opened this thread thinking something was wrong, I love that it is actually about all our wonderful horses.45120
