What do i do now?? *i need GMT help!*
-
Okay so ive kinda dug myself into a hole here.
I currently am allowing myself to have one more gene mod horse, but I have two likely candidates. They both have their own strengths and weaknesses.
For starters, I cloned a horse that I bought in an auction a couple weeks ago. I also did some pretty extensive modifying on my part: I used only hbs and spent no real money on him. He is Het w3, Het w10, Hom nd1, Hom dp, Hom pearl (added myself) Hom EE (turned ee into EE), AtA (was aa), 1% boost, and I made him as big and tall as possible. (So I have well over two/three million hbs put into him) I WAS planning on adding Hom gulastra plume and Hom kp, until another player offered a Like Minded horse.
So.. What should I do? I feel like there are so many possibilities with the special RS, (I can add fantasy genes and whatnot) but ive already spent so much money on my other boy and I can't justify working on TWO huge projects.

Here is the horse ive been working on:

Here is the other boy that im picking up tomorrow:

If you put all your hbs into playing with the Like Minded for the next two seasons before he ages out of GMTing, could you still make up enough the money in the Drafts last season to GMT to finish him?
If the answer is truly no then I would finish the boy you put all the love into already.
More joy in finishing what you have well started than ending up with regrets because you left the work half finished on both from running out of resources and time.Thanked by 1MariaChapinFarm3 -
What would you do to the Like Minded horse that you haven’t already started in the draft colt? Do you have the HBs or real money to do what you want with the Like Minded horse? What is your end goal? My thoughts are, if you are wanting to basically do the same thing to the Like Minded horse that you have already done to the draft, but prefer the Like Minded boy just because of the snowflake, you could always do a forum auction for the draft. You likely won’t get nearly what you put into him though, especially since he is already a clone. Or turn the draft into a mare, and pull eggs like crazy while you GMT the Like Minded boy to what you want. The options are really kind of wide open, and without knowing what your end goal is for the Like Minded boy we can’t exactly help with solid figures (like you have already spent A amount on B horse, to get the same result on C horse you would need to spend D amount).Thanked by 1ObsidianKitsune

@Looper just so you know in case you have projects too horses no longer age out of GMTing as long as they are unbredDabbler in EVERYTHING.
-
Honestly it sounds like you need to sit down and figure out what you really want to breed for and then look at what these horses have to offer and modify the one closest to your end goal rather than just throwing genes at them willy nillyBreeding even generation Grullos with Ice

That's what ive been doing, bandit. The only problem is i don't have a huge amount of game money, but I could almost definitely use real money to put genes on the rank special that I otherwise wouldn't be able to afford.
Genes wise: they both are on an equal playing field. I love the genes that both of them have, and im going to keep Oops no matter what. i just dont know if i should add anything else to him, or if i should add GP and KP to the Like Minded... -
It seems to me the only genes that make the TAOLMP stand out are the Tiger Eye ($2.50/5 GMTs) and the snowflake ($15 Hz), adding Appaloosa (2 GMTs). It's possible you could just turn your clone into a synthetic TAOLMP.
-
True Rose, even though i couldnt add the snowflake. but honestly thats not a deal breaker! i think i might just save up and turn the TAOLMP into a mare and continue with the clone.
-
You've got time to add the snowflake! One year of growing plus a few days before breeding starts means three cycles of the roving genes, and snowflake isn't incredibly rare. :)
-
@RoseFlute You can’t add genes from the Gene Sales into clones, it won’t allow you to. So the clone can’t have snowflake added.
