The auction is the guaranteed quickest way to sell horses but if you need money before tomorrow night the best would to be listing them for sale and then putting a forum post with a link to a search of your sale horses.

If the post is just individual horses I tend to move on rather than open them all to find they’ve already been sold. The search link also gives more information about each horse and stays up to date without having to edit your post constantly.

You can also sell them back to the game for some quick cash but unless your selling fantasy horses you won’t get much for them

And, as you probably already know, the way to earn money here is show ponies - showing 2xweekly and steadily increasing your show herd. :)
