I just want to get this out

    About a month ago my mum was diagnosed with cancer. The doctors said its early and yhey are confident they can get it all in surgery (she goes in on Wednesday). I live in a different state and haven't been able to go see her, and now she's in the hospital waiting for test results from stress tests and stuff, hoping she doesn't have a problem with her heart. I'm stuck here not able to go see her. I have nowhere to go to talk about it.

    If you need to rage I'll listen. I hope your mom passes all her tests with flying colors and the doctors get it all.

    My mom got diagnosed with cancer in February. I was at school out of state so I didnt get to see her until May. The docs are confident she can beat it but it's still scary. All that to say, I'm there too right now and I get it. I'll be praying for your mom to have the strength and attitude to kick that cancer where the sun don't shine, and for you to have peace even in the turmoil <3

    *hugs* Talk to someone here if you need to, lots of people have been where you are!

    Prayers for you and especially for her and her doctors, hoping it turns out to be relatively minor like my mom's cancer scare was when I was a kid. It was the 80s and Mom was in for lots of testing before they finally did the surgery, then had to stay about a week afterwards, but the cancer turned out to be benign and it never came back.

    Thank you guys. She went in Wednesday and they kept saying "oh we need to keep you overnight" but she just told me a few minutes ago she's being discharged and everything came back normal. Think it may have been a severe anxiety attack because that was tbe first day of pre-op workups.

    I love this community so much.

    My mum's back in surgery right now. They said it could 5 to 10 hours, depending on how bad it is when they get in.

    My mom goes for major abdominal surgery to remove a huge mass next month. *hug*

    I hope the surgery goes well and your mom recovers quickly.

    They said they got all the cancer. They're taking her teeth out and doing reconstruction, so a couple more hours and she should be in recovery.

    Glad to hear they got all the cancer. Hopefully the reconstruction goes well too and soon she will be in recovery and then on the path to healing.

    She's out! Everything went well, better than expected actually. She's able to swallow and can whisper, which the doctor said she may not be able to do for a day or two. She only needs to stay 3 or 4 days instead of 7 like they originally thought. I'm so relieved!
