Thoroughbreds in rain storm
-
So I've noticed that there is at least 3 different types of tb on my yard when it comes to rain.
1. The I'm going to melt - my friends 2 are like this
2. Where is the puddle I need to be a hippo - a livery has a grey like this
3. Nothing has changed I'm still going to eat and be me - mine
On my yard we have what we call the cotton wool field which has no fencing, it's enclosed via bushes and trees, that is just for the tbs. It's raining really heavily and when I've gone to check on them after work 2 of them (Wallis and whinnie) where under the big tree shaking and shouting for me to save them, purple was doing his best hippo impression in the pond and Fish was in the middle of the field munching away. None are rugged as we all opt for the au natural way of looking after them, no rugs, no clipping, no shoes and as natural of a diet as possible. It's amazing how different they are, they've all raced and are all around 10yr old.Breeder of Axiom blue and Ice 1 draftsThanked by 1Dinascar -
I can't help but think, isn't every grey/white horse a secret hippo and love to take mud baths? What else would their lovely light coat be used for!Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable.

Your horse is named Fish? I love it.
My two (Quarter Horses) could really care less and just want to be outside all the time. I've had to run out to the pasture to force them to go in during a lightning storm. Zip likes to hang his head outside the barn during rainstorms so that all the drips from the roof fall on his head... he's a weird one.ID 43830
It's nice to be back! :)

I used to live on the west coast of British Columbia and my OTTB never cared about the rain. It could be pouring down in November with a freezing wind blasting and he would be happily grazing outside.
But he spent time living in a filthy stall and half starved before I got him so once we got him into decent shape and moved him to our acerage you could not get him out of the pasture for love nor money. LOL!ID# 47364
Breeding for all version of black drafts using chimera foundations.
Help me build my black brindle army!
Always looking to buy B/Red foundation brindle drafts in black, blue roan, grullo, classic champagne, etc.
I can be very scatterbrained and forgetful so if I don't get back to you in a decent amount of time just poke me. -
I have the 4th kind. The “I’m going to stand in the rain and stare at you with an angry face”. You know, even though she has a high neck rain sheet and a nice cozy shelter. She just stands in the rain and glares. Although maybe this is more of a red mare problem than an OTTB one?

I've got a massive hardy looking Clydesdale X who acts like he is going to melt in the rain! Whereas everyone else is definitely no. 3 :DBreeding brown/liver/black with white spotting drafts. If you ever fancy straws PM me. PM me if you need help with GE.
