How many players here are also on the bluegrass server?
-
I've been contemplating starting a stables there in addition to this one. What are the differences between the servers? Any specific pros or cons to having one over the other or both? I havent made up my mind yet but was just wondering out loud.Breeder of the tallest draftsThanked by 1FollysFantasies

I haven't noticed any significant differences between the two. It does give you a chance to set different breeding goals. I've got two accounts there and one here. The main one on Bluegrass breeds mainly for riding horses, gold cream champagne appaloosas and white-spotted livers(both solids and appaloosas). The secondary breeds any color appaloosa ponies. Here I breed homozygous DP silver dark bays/browns/buckskins. Just starting here so my herd is still pretty small.

The main difference I have noticed is that there are several Rank Special Herd Helpers that come up pretty much daily on that server that only come up for special events on this one: Conversation Hearts, Heart of the Holidays, Sparkling Cider, Good China, Storm Warning, Candy Corn, Out With A Bang, specifically. Also the forum is not as busy/active. Slightly different economy in terms of sale prices...particularly pointed creates don't seem to be worth as much or just take longer to sell maybe. I have one account there that I only go on a couple times a month whereas I have two accounts on this server that I am on almost daily. I like this server better for sure.
-
I used to play the other one, but quit because of the 2 month long game years was just too long for me, i liked the faster pace on this one better. Now the other one is one month too, but i'm invested here.#28036

I definitely like this server more. Prices on the server one are extremely inflated (makes sense, most of the players are established and have huge lump sums of cash), and its generally slower over there. I like being able to interact with the community and whatnot :)
-
I have one account on blue, and 5 on Forrest. I by far prefer the forum over here for shear liveliness. The game play is the same, and I don't want to loose access to my tiny greys if for some reason I stop carrying all my basic upgrades. Each of my accounts are a line and a bootstrap herd at this point, but I keep thinking I should merge one or two over here.45120

@Seaswell, I thought we could only have 3 accounts? :?
-
@Looper You can only have 3 free accounts. You can have a many upgraded (basic or premium) as you want :)Bluegrass Server: HayesStable - 221755
Forest Server: AHayesHorses - 4344
Mesa Server: AshBrookeFarm - 92 -
I have played on both servers for 3.5ish years now :) Because of how bad my ADD is, i cannot concentrate on one thing too long so i like bouncing back and forth between servers and having different breeding goals. I have a premium account on both servers (AHayesHorse here and HayesStable on Bluegrass) and then 2 Basic Upgraded accounts on the side :) Gives me a chance to switch things up and keep my brain occupiedBluegrass Server: HayesStable - 221755
Forest Server: AHayesHorses - 4344
Mesa Server: AshBrookeFarm - 92 -
@AHayesHorses Thank you! Impressed that anyone can manage more than one even! Let alone 6 like Seaswell.
I was curious about the other server but I think I chose the right one. :)Thanked by 1AHayesHorses -
@Looper You're welcome :) I currently manage 7 going on 8 accounts (4 here and soon to be 4 on Bluegrass) because i just came up with a new experimental line that i wanna try :)) Having so many accounts really does help with my ADD :)Bluegrass Server: HayesStable - 221755
Forest Server: AHayesHorses - 4344
Mesa Server: AshBrookeFarm - 92 -
:-)) I love the difference between all my accounts. I still end up spending all my cash every where about once a week. I have been tinkering with the idea of a second blue account. But I'm trying to talk myself out of it.45120

I play both, but only one account on each server. I can't even keep up with those two :PID 108

Oh wow! Thank you for the feedback everyone. I think I'll just stay here lol I've got a good thing going with my jumbo drafts and I live the community here. Your input has been uber helpfulBreeder of the tallest drafts

I play both servers, one main account on each. I do have a free account as well on one of them, HJ1 I think. I never do much on it though, I login occasionally as just curious how it's going LOL. The two servers used to be quite different, this one didn't have many of the colours, and no exceptionals etc but now days there isn't much difference except for different communities. There is a lot more newer players here, and much older established players on HJ1. I enjoy both! There are more cob and pony breeders on HJ1 so I have more people to share with, although there is a few cob breeders here now too. I breed the same on both servers, just different people to share with
-
I have an account on both servers as well. My main account is on HJ1, because I feel more at home there. This account is more for fun, to test and try new things, and to play with different kind of horses than I do on HJ1 etc
You can try to start a new account on the other server, and if you don't like it, you can always close it and stop playing there. There are no downsides in testing it :) -
I have three. 2 on the other and 1 here. My main "main" one is on HaJ 1 with over 1,300+ horses while the other is an experimental one that mostly now just sells really cheap pointed yearlings, but when breeding season opens I focus on my exceptional Nd1 horses and am only focusing on getting the best to see if I like that kind of thing. Like better papers, the right colors, evenly bred, have to have at least 1 copy if Nd1 to stay intact, and be superior to sire for boys. So far I don't know but I'll keep at it until I do know.
On this account I haven't been able to do much really as space has been an issue. But I have a lot of Livers and nice Het to Hom DP horses. My favorite being "This Is My Soul", a Hom DP Silver Bay draft mare.
I say it really depends on what you find enjoyable in the game. If it's community you want than this is the most active server but I personally love everybody on both servers. Fantasy Genes and DP are more of this servers thing, while recently Appys, and "Leopards" as we call them, and Het to Hom DP silver Bays and Bays are more of the other servers thing (dapples are pretty big too right now so). Both do Livers pretty well but this server has more to offer with Livers. Although both servers of course has all of these it's just that you see them more is all.
As for sizes, this server mostly has drafts and cobs. And a nice decent amount of warmbloods. You can get riding horses and ponies but not sooo much really. However on the other server, riding horses and ponies have really started becoming popular (I blame @bluchrystals, Bambi207, and @paradoxphoenix, lol!) You will find a lot of warmbloods but not many drafts and cobs. There is still going to be plenty but they get lost under all the riding horses and ponies and warmbloods.
All my opinion on what I see. But, it doesn't mean you can't find a way to fit in what you want and be happy (and maybe male it popular). Juuuust make sure you can handle the extra work. I love it cause I have nothing to do in my life haha, so this is lovely to have so much to do everyday. But that's mainly my main account with 1,300+ horses that I spend my time on. Mostly right now on tattoos and snipping. (Mainly tattoos XD)Thanked by 1FeldingFields -
I just joined here from the Bluegrass server, where I started my first ever HJ account (FlyingTurkeyFarm) a few months ago. So far I like the Bluegrass server better, I think just because it's where I started and I'm used to the players and community there. I'm sure we all will become friends here in good time ;)
I have really liked that there seem to be a few different HHs here that I haven't seen on Bluegrass, but maybe I'm just new enough I haven't seen them over there yet. And it's nice to be here now so I can take advantage of what I learned on Bluegrass and focus on a few lines that I don't have room/money to pursue on Bluegrass. -
-
I play both games, as does my daughter. We started when what is now the Bluegrass server was the only HaJ game around. In fact, my daughter was one of the beta test players for this version of the game (hence her two digit stable ID). At that time there were quite a few differences in the games. Now, there aren't many differences at all.

I just love that Ammit keeps doing mini to medium updates to keep things interesting around here. I'm having all kinds of fun figuring out the new layout, so I'm ready to roll when breeding starts.

I have two accounts here and one account on HJ1. My main account is FeldingFields here. I split off a smaller account to breed for a thing that I think is pretty but kept messing with my main line. On HJ1 I breed for appaloosa, because I'm was trying to understand appy genetics....but 3G in, I kind of have a handle on it now and since I really only like slow varnishing mega spot blanket or leopards appies (and slow varnish is *hard* to get)...eh, I may give up breeding them and just buy pretty ones as show ponies. I may just switch over 100% bootstrap breeding over there and have a herd of "wild" ponies and see what comes out. I don't know. It took me a while to settle on mega spot, slow varnish appies to begin with. I have no idea what a different goal would be.
I found it much easier to get started over here - because the forums are more active and there seem to be more contests and giveaways. I put about the same amount of real money into my Felding account and my HJ1 account through March, but Felding grew at twice the rate, which makes it easier to do fun stuff.~Purveyor of the finest riding horses in Rakia~

My main account is on Bluegrass, it's like home there, I've been playing 11 years this month :-))
As far as I'm aware it's the same gameplay.
If you do decide to start there give Gemfish a heads up and I'm sure I could find you a pretty pony to start you off -
@ChrystalBlues are you @bluchrystals from the other server? I thought you were only on HaJ 1? And if you are, yes I do blame you guys because you all started creating and sharing extremely pretty riding horses! Why wouldn't it catch on!? Lol!
