This joke is really goofy (and I can’t take credit for it), but when I read it for the first time, I could not stop laughing. When I moved to Lubbock from the midwest, the wind was so dusty and gritty that I wondered if it was normal to chew the air. I hope it brings a smile to your face!


One day, an out-of-state tourist stopped for lunch in the little Texas town of Plainview.

When he got out of his car, the wind was blowing so hard he had to
lean into the wind as he walked to keep it from blowing him down.

As he approached the cafe, he spotted a local man standing there holding on to a lamp post.

He asked the local, "Does the wind blow like this all the time?"

“No sir," was the reply. "Sometimes it changes and comes from the other direction."

I left my fiancee who had drug and alcohol problems many years ago. At the time it does feel devastating. I promise you it's the right decision. Until the person is fed up with the addiction and is hell-bent on being free from it...everyone and everything in its sphere of influence is its victim. Unfortunately most addicts need to hit rock-bottom (many more than once) before they begin to desire change. In the meantime you only have one life and you need and deserve to be in a healthy environment ♡

Make sure you’ve talked to the landlord to make sure your name is taken off everything so if he decides buying alcohol trumps paying rent you aren’t getting dinged for failure to pay.

But I understand how you are feeling. When I moved out of my ex’s it took a moment to sink in how much I had changed because of him. I had stopped doing things I had loved because he would get easily bored or annoyed by how long I was taking to enjoy them and if I left him home I’d be constantly feeling like I needed to watch the clock so I wasn’t too long.

But then I left and the weight lifted off and the relief set in. And I felt free
