What are your favorite closed genes? (Owned or otherwise?) One really stands out? One you might have regretted buying... One that is temperamental, but when you get it right is nice?

If you have more than one, would you please rank them from best to worst? Feel free to link as many horses as you wish for examples. (Or just to show off in a sneaky way....)

Just curious, but I thought that it would be fun to talk about.

I'm also seeing it on my chinchilla ice 13s, so i9 for the win.

I'd love to add thunderstruck to my mushroom watercolor babies too, but I want to wait most genes till I merge at least half my accounts.

I absolutely LOVE Mushroom and Chinchilla! They are my two main lines now. Can't really see the chinchilla on this guy because of how much he has going on but dang, his babies are gonna be pretty! Just need to add the second KP and LP to him!

Watercolor is definitely my favorite by itself but is also really fun to mix with other closed genes. So it is my easy favorite due to the variety of colors it can create

I like wrong warp but only with enough pattern to make it fun, also my favorite combination with thunderstruck

I like chinchilla on the right colors

Plaid and thunderstruck can both be kind of boring on their own but I love them in combination with others.

And I was never a huge fan of Ice 9 until I broke down and put it on one of my foundies.

Watercolor is my favorite, just because of it's wide range, also because it goes so very well with all the other fantasy genes and I have a love for most all of the ices, open or closed. It's the only closed gene I own so far, but I know I'll buy into more in the future. Combined with ice8 is pretty awesome.

How did I miss that Ice 10 does amazing things with Warp? I need some of that in my herd!

I’ve been having fun with Warp/Axiom/Thunderstruck mixes and with Ice/Watercolor/Plaid/Nacre/S+ mixes.

My favorite would have to be a tie between Warp and Watercolor.

1. Plaid - especially with roan and some white on face and feet. It is like a Clydesdale wrapped in faded flannel. I have had trouble getting a consistent look with my breeding stock. I a ROF I put SB2 on and I hope it comes out again next month.

I love wrong warp and nacre. I wish I had more nacre in my lines...but love it anyway. I love seeing everyone elses nacre ponies too. Wrong warp is by far my favorite though...it pred ta in so many unique ways!!!

I bought this guy when he was a foal....and he has really been my favorite breeding stud this last season!!!

Chinchilla is my favourite gene. I loooove dapples and I really like the way Chinchilla highlights the dapples, especially on silver black horse. I think its a beautiful look.

Ice 9 is probably my most favourite closed gene
Watercolour is another favourite though, I love all the variations and looks good with just about everything!
Followed probably by chinchilla. Both also go really well with Ice9!
Another favourite is ice 13, another that looks good with watercolour and chinchilla too

My biggest favourites are Chinchilla, Mushroom, Satin and Wrong Warp, but I looove so many others too :x I have so many favourite horses that I'll just put up some of my most treasured foundations.

Oh your post reminded me of Ice3 Devils!
Ice3 is another favourite, it's sort of the opposite of Ice9, similar ice pattern but instead of making them darker, it makes them slightly lighter. Really pretty on my watercolours as it makes them sort of a pastel colours!

So if I had to order them in a list of preferences
