In game horse aging?
  • Is there a genetic component to how old horses get in the game, or is it pure RNG?

  • RNG??

  • I wondered that when I started - pretty sure it's random.
Breeding brown/liver/black with white spotting drafts. If you ever fancy straws PM me. PM me if you need help with GE.

  • Spry--it's short for Random Number Generator or Generation. That's the secret ingredient to the programming that gives us all the variability for so many characteristics.

  • Has anyone tried to breed for age?

    #40789
  • @summervine I haven't heard of it, but it's definitely possible they have. It seems like a difficult thing to breed for, since your foundations would have to sit for 17-20+ RL months before you could accurately ascertain which would be worth breeding. That is, assuming a lot of the oldest horses in the game weren't spelded, and that if they did have straws or eggs in storage, they'd be long gone by the time they reached 25+...

  • I think it's completely random :)

  • Great question! As far as I know, it’s random. I have not observed a correlation in my horses.

  • Yeah, I can see that it would be difficult to breed and track for. Or, at least, very much patience-requiring! I also suspect it is random, but I'm not totally sure. It would be interesting to conduct an experiment!

  • That's a very interesting thought!
