Hello,

I am working on this boy

3G Sky High GMT

The main thing I wanted to do was make sure he had two copies of KP. (He has two grandfathers with Hom. KP so both parents are guaranteed het.) I successfully added sire's KP. Error on mom's KP. However he does not express KP.... I know that he won't go into the breeding club as he has a fantasy gene. The other thing is I wanted to change his fathers + appy gene to Patn1, but it says no edits available.... Anyone have any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

My guess is that because his WF is none, the KP cloud is being sneaky. Also, if you have bred his father already, you can't GMT him anymore.

@HTRanch, they want to add the PATN1 to this guy that he missed from his sire. That's what they mean, but it won't work. That's what I'm getting from this, at least. But @HunterUnderSaddleGirl, please correct me if I'm wrong.

He has only 1 Kit mutation. He's KitrKit. There must be 2 Kit mutations for KP to work. You need to add either Kitto or KitW2 on the dam's side. Then the KP will show up.

Make sure you're trying to add PATN1 on the sire's side--the left option.

He has roan and toby... Yes, I have tried clicking on sire's side. To no avail.... And the dam's side just in case she's hiding it.

I don't think I need to change his sire? He already has the Patn1? But if I increase white factor then the cloud will show up?

Ooh! Yea! Thanks, got the Patn1 to work. Not sure what I did wrong before but not looking a gift horse in the mouth. Still not sure why no KP expression. Will inreasing the white factor do something? Not sure if I will if it does. I was only planning on spending 1-2 GMT's... Oops.

I'd change his mane to one that shows his neck. The current mane could be hiding any cloud.

Oh, sorry. I thought you meant you were trying to change the sire's PATN1, but I understand now :)

I tried changing the the mane as suggested. Still nothing. I will go try to add the dam's KP one more time, and I think I will give up. Either way I think I am happy with him as a carrier.

yea i dont think white factor has anything to do with kp, whatsoever. the roan might be hiding the clouds

Its showing you GMT'd two hidden genes. Did you add any DP, Snowflake, GP? If not, then he's hom but just not expressing clearly. Rerolling might make it show, if you really want it to, you could try that.

I added DP.

I tried a bunch of rerolls, but that was quite a few GMTs ago. I'll go try again.

Agree with rerolling his image.. I breed KP on server 1 and will get hom KPs with no expression or the faintest expression along the back leg or something that most would overlook...

Thank you for the help guys! I am going to try and get my “before” so we can compare. So excited. Only meant to spend 1 GMTs on him, but oh well. Couple colts will become geldings instead of mares but that’s probably ok anyways.

SO proud of this boy! Anyone want straws?
