Brag And Cry/Pay it Forward
-
Give the person that posted in front of you a gift! It can be a straw, horse, or cash. Up to you. In the meantime you have a "captive" audience and can talk about whatever you wish, even a brag or a cry.
When this thread seems to have reached its close, I will be the final gift giver, and give the last person to have posted something.
Stating whether you can take eggs/straws is helpful to the gift giver behind you.
You can go multiple times. But try to let at least 2 people go inbetween your posts.

I was in a drive-thru before work one day and the person ahead of me paid for both my sandwich and my drink. I cried a little bit, I couldn't believe it happened to me!
I still haven't managed to do the same for someone else yet, but I'm happy to do it here to start!ID# 25784 -
I love this idea!
I’ve been so happy lately, honestly...our pup is being trained for personal protection (we are under the tutelage of a really fantastic trainer) and he’s coming along so well. I’ve never owned a dog before that’s mine...they’ve all been a family member’s, or brought in by another partner. But Zero has seriously been a dream come true and I feel so grateful!
Edit: I can do straws, but currently no eggs -
I just wanted to share that I joined a fitness (club?); planet fitness. I've already been twice. The first time I ran a half mile in over 6 minutes and I could hardly breathe at the end. But yah know... Gotta start somewhere. I was never very fast running. But even in middle school I always ran EXACTLY 9 minute and 56 second miles. Every time.

In November, my jui jitsu instructor told me I was ready to test for advancement to blue belt when the national leader of our program (one of the world's top ten) came into town. I didn't feel ready, but trusted him...and didn't pass. Like, I understand, because everyone else up for blue belt rolled the snot out of me and was amazing, but everyone knew I was there to be considered for promotion so it was kind of embarrassing. My instructor just put it down to me having an off day, and keeps dropping hints that he's going to promote me soon...but, I dunno, 40-50 people saw me fail and everyone who passed got Top Guy to put on their new belts and sign their old ones. And if my instructor belts me myself, it'll be in front of the 4-5 that attend my class regularly. Like, I failed publicly, I want to succeed publicly, too! Which makes me feel like shit, glory-seeking is not the point of jui jitsu.

I have a brag from this game. I bred my pastures today, bred 69 mares. Got 69 foals. Only 3 didn't pass BA! I was so excited! :D
I can use straws, not eggs, though embryos are nice. :P I mostly focus on RH/RP evenly bred appys. :)

We've got a fireplace we've been running in this nasty cold (Alberta), and I've got myself setup near it for studying and whatnot (I was there before we started using the fireplace).
Ants. Ants all the time. I don't know where they're coming from, but they keep coming. My best guess: they're in the wood we bring in, and as it thaws, the ants come back to life and somehow crawl their way up my chair to walk across my stuff.
ID# 25784 -
@BlueValley I'm in BC and we have ants like crazy as well. We can't seem to get rid of them.
-
Me too. We have tried every kind of trap and poison we can find. They seems to go away for a short time, then they come back 10x worse.
-
Its super snowy/icy here! A lot of school districts in my area had a snow day. But my school didn't... I think they should have though. Especially since some people come from up to an hour away. So even if its OK here there some areas nearby that are really nasty. (Although admittedly 15 seconds away from school is when my automatic 4 wheel drive activated....)

Oh y’all! Ants are the worst! We’ve been having major heat and drought conditions here so they come into the house to get to water. There is a constant stream of them on the bathroom wall where they’ve gotten into the cistern of the toilet, which I can handle, but now they’re in the toilet bowl too——NASTY! We think there is a nest in the wall/roof because the overhanging tree hasn’t been properly maintained and is now resting branches all over the roof. Thank god our landlord is finally going to have that dealt with sometime soon....
And then this morning I went to make myself a coffee and they were on my coffee machine! So I get to take that apart this morning and try to clean them out before I go to work. Ant-y Coffee is NOT on my list of delicacies! Blah!
But, given the disasters up north here and the fires down in Tassie, I’m grateful all I have to complain about is ants...

Today we had a huge snowstorm! I counted four cars in the ditch on the 20 minute drive to work and the rest of my clients got cancelled halfway through the day. It was nice to be able to get other work done... but the weather has been cancelling my sessions left and right and I need the money! But on a good note, I was able to pick up an extra shift in a few weeks.

I'm in the middle of a fight with one of my oldest friends. As I write this she's been in a coma for almost two days. As angry as I have been with her the last few weeks... I never wished her harm. Now I'm scared she won't wake up.
45140 no eggs45140 -
I'm so sorry to hear that! But I'm sure that she still cares about about, and knows that it was a temporary disagreement. I'll be thinking positive thoughts towards her.
Speaking of disagreements I was at my Dad's house yesterday morning and Saturday, and there was some severe drama/miscommunications so Mom called me right before school yesterday and made me VERY upset. And anyway I went to wait in the horsemanship teacher's classroom, and managed to keep it cool, and for someone reason realizing not having my coffee made me get pushed over the edge, and I just completely broke down crying. Great.... He said to go collect myself, then he'd write me a pass for 1st hour (which was just a TA hour anyway). Which I took the entire hour to get collected, so I never got the pass so my school called home to my parents that I was absent... Oops. But thankfully Mr. Soto emailed my first hour teacher for me, so I don't think that there'll be a permanent mark. I am so grateful to have Mr. Soto. I don't know what's wrong with me. My grandma died a few years back, and I never cried, but my Mom getting frustrated at me for 30 seconds will make me break down crying now? I don't understand. But I feel better now; I got to ride Viper a saddlebred stallion again. I might get to go show him soon! Under APHA "youth" is still "18+ under", so I'm technically 18 for the rest of the year. But am still a youth. I know most allow showing stallions at 18... So I don't know if APHA would let me show a stallion. And I REALLY don't know what the saddlebred rules are... (Although Arizona Clydesdale club let me show a stallion at 10 years old.....) Anyways, I'm off on a tanget and babbling.
Straws and Eggs. I always appreciate "unique" embryos. But I'm not going to be picky.

Despite not getting many hours at work and having so much time to study my course material, I'm having some trouble working on it. The modules are a lot more intense this semester for some reason and it's a lot of material to cover in a week (I write a unit exam every Friday, I'm finding it tough to keep up).
I love it, though. I'm really excited for my on-campus practicum in March!
Eggs, straws, embryos good.ID# 25784Thanked by 1Summervine -
@BlueValley - I always found schoolwork really hard in the winter. I dunno if it's Seasonal Affective Disorder or just an urge to hibernate, but no matter how excited I was for the classes I took, it was always a struggle. So, sympathies! (check my chat, btw, there's a girlie waiting for ya ;) )
Winter is just always hard for me, even beyond schoolwork, and this year was no exception. My town is currently buried under unusual snow, which emphasizes the feeling. But my birthday is on Saturday and I'm going down to my folks' place, who always treat me with lots of love and humor and good food and good times and I'm really looking forward to it. Plus, as an added bonus, I don't have to work tomorrow, which means I don't have to work with a person I intensely dislike. Early birthday present I guess? haha.
eggs and straws are fine, I can use them all! :)

Had a beautiful day and beautiful ride. We think my lease horse pulled a muscle in the field last week so we're still taking it light trying to keep him stretched out and loose, but this it was so beautiful out and we kept chasing a pair of bluebirds around the ring. It's nice to have a peaceful laid back morning every know and then.

My whole family has been battling a cold this past month, and I was doing pretty good not getting it. But this morning I woke up miserable, I finally got the cold and I got a bad one. Me and my husband had a few Valentine’s Day plans, but we have to postpone them now. Not how I wanted to spend my first Valentine’s Day as a married couple. He did bring me flowers and chocolates so that’s a highlight.

I really, really, really want to get into driving horses. I binge Barry Hook videos on Youtube like you would not believe. Unfortunately, I do not have the funds to get into it and the driving community here isn't as profound as the riding community.
I want to train my mare to drive, but I a.) don't know how to drive, so how do I train a horse to drive? :-? and b.) don't have any equipment for it. I'm sure it's going to be a matter of save-save-save-spend.

We have had tons and tons of snow here! The college even called a two hour delay.
I got to go to the Scottsdale Arabian horseshow on Friday with my friend Ronni. Ronni used to be BF's with my Mom. But its been kinda awkward the last few years.... Drama including us hanging out with my trainer Carla instead of her, and her hanging out with Lynne with the saddlebreds. And of course she was our landlord for 8 years.... But she offered to take me, and I jumped on the chance. We ran into Carla which was kinda weird.... I probably would have preferred to go with Carla, but she didn't offer. So oh-well.
Then I cleaned pens for Carla on Sunday for like 6 hours. Boy I was so sore. But then she gave me money, which was exciting. I think I was surprised and forgot to say Thank you. Oops. But then she's like "well it was hanging out in my pocket. But I still have to calculate up your bill from the last show." Sooo....
But Mom and her BF are gone to Las Vegas for a vet conference. So I am taking care of the BF's horses. Which means I don't have to go to Dad's house either. So being away from all of my parents has been fabulous for mental health. Although I don't get to ride at all this week. I am particularly missing an old horse of mine that I sold a year ago. Actually more than horse I have leased out.... As much as my current horse is my "dream" horse, she cost lots of money so when Mom was in financial trouble we had to lease her out. But if we had kept Chrome we would be able to keep him. So I'm a little blue about that. But Chrome is in a good home. And eventually the financial situation will get better, and I will have a gorgeos show horse. (hopefully)
Here is him as a 2YO when I first got him (horse in center). Horse on left is a yearling....Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.
