Looking for info about Gulastra Plume
-
Hey there! I see a lot of people advertising their horses as having GP, and there’s a breeder’s club, but whenever I look at the genetic codes of horses advertised as GP, I don’t see anything to indicate it. Is there a letter/combo to let you know if a horse has Gulastra Plume, or is it based entirely off the look of the tail? Is it a purchased gene? Any info is very appreciated!
-
Someone who breeds for it can probably answer better, but yes it's bases entirely on the look of the tail. A horse has to be hom GP, and have a bay (At, A, A+) gene for gustra plume to express and fit in the club. You also need a capital E.
-
Gulastra Plume is a Hidden gene, so you won’t see it in the genetic code or in the color name. The only way you know for sure is by being able to register in the breeders club, or by the tails. A horse can carry the gene if they do not have E or a bay/brown gene.
-
And don't mistake those bay splash horses that ONLY have white in their tails, for GP! I did that a BUNCH when I was breeding for GP! :/
-
That makes sense! Thank you! So the half white tail, plus At/A/A+, plus an E gene? I’ll have to keep an eye out :) will the game automatically allow us to register with the GP breed club if they are hom GP?
-
Yes, your horse will register in the club. That is the for sure way to check. If you are interested, I have a GP stud I will be finishing modifying this month if you want straws!ID 43830
It's nice to be back! :)

You have to run genetic testing before you can enter any breeders club

Actually, I believe gulastra plume needs E in order to be registerable ( ee won't work).
I made a new stud that's homozygous gulastra plume, and when I changed the E to e, he was removed from the club and isn't registerable anymore. Also, a quick search of all gulastra plume horses in game shows that they are either EE, Ee, or eE (I just found this out myself, thanks to another player). I love the gene, but it can be really frustrating and hard to breed for. -
Gulastra Plume also doesn’t occur spontaneously in the game. The only way to get the gene is to buy it in the GMT Lab/roving gene sale or to buy into the gene from existing owners/breeders.
A few things to remember is to try to keep colors that will obscure GP out of your line, so things like silver, any form of splash and some of the more aggressive Kit patterns can all give you a white tail that will cover up your gorgeous Plume.
