What lines do you have
-
This started on another thread but it was a morph from the original so I thought I would break it out into its own thread. I never really had lines until recently, and they were not really planned, they just sort of happened. I would be curious about how others established lines.
My lines ... hmmm ... lines seem so nice and straight and clean, mine are more like avalanches of horses. I have been slowly organizing over the last six months and I have started separating the horses. Up until then except for my snowflakes everyone ran together in a vast genetic soup. Some of my older pastures still have some mixing, but I correct it as I find it.
Era 5 line - All my other horses are EPerf and ExPro based. Last month I decided to start an Era 5 line based on non experf rank specials. Not sure if I will keep this going or not.
Fantasy - I collapsed my rainbows and ice herd with my everything Nexus line into a single line called fantasy. I have all the genes and I love how they look all mixed together. Plus with the gene sales, most of my stallions have these genes all mixed together. My goal with this line is high testing evenly bred horses. This is the goal for most of my lines.
KP - I have a KP line - it has not been getting a lot of love, but I now have some new foundations so maybe I can reinvigorate it.
KitM and W8 - Just starting to separate this out. Love, love, love these kit patterns. This will be a growing area in my barn. After 2 plus years in the game, I may have found a colour/pattern that I may wish to take through my herd.
Snowflake - This line includes everything app. No colour restrictions for base colour. My goals are to produce an evenly bred +13 pt snowfakes. Currently I am about to slowly make Gen 4 snowflakes hom only. Then Gen 3. Unfortunately some of my best AFPTs are het, so it will be slow.
Bootstrap. - For me this herd is all about AFPTs and PTs. Looking to work my way to a PT of 14. I have two Gold mare pastures devoted to this. One has an AFPT cut off for mares of 12.95 after 3 foals, the other 12.9. The second will be brought into 12.95 by the end of this season.
Miscreant line - how bad can you get. This is all about low breeding quality animals. I compare against my baseline stud and soon they will have to be aga or inf to stay. Still experimenting a lot with this line. It is just fun. The good news is these horses do not sit in pastures as I wanted the lowest scored horses I can get. Pasture bonus is not my friend.
Mush, chin, splash M, satin - these are mixed in my general herd at the moment, so they will end up slowly working through all my horses. Numbers are too low to separate. Post gene sale I have some new foundies, so the numbers should grow (especially satin) and I may (or may not) do something here.
General herd - everything else. Experf/expro foundies, blue/A gen 2s and 3s, star/gold all other gens. Culled by afpt and comparison testing pretty vigorously. All colours and patterns welcome.
Once we get mare compare, there will be a round of dramatic culling.

My lines is I started one from 4g. 4g Joeys Dream was my starting stallion. I bought his dam in remembrance of my brother who passed away 2 years ago. He gave me my love of horses.
I have a SplM and Ice 9 line. I love these two genes and they look great together. My foundation boy is Storm. I have started to mingle my other SplM boy into this line as well.
I have a KPGP line. I have fun with this line this line I am trying to make just for my sport ponies. My ultimate goal with this line is to have horses that are both KPGP and be tiny.
I was gifted a SNF boy for Christmas. I am excited for him. He has his own ladies that I was gifted. My plan for this line is to keep this a small herd. Just have fun.
I am thinking of starting a line strictly based off of the UK Shetlands so cobs. I want to ise my Mushroom gene into this line strictly since mushroom has only been confirmed in Shetlands.Thanked by 1DragonRun -
I have one line (started last season) of DP bay foundations.
Another line started like yesterday is my mini cob line. I haven’t refined what colors I wanted to do yet so right now it’s just any cute tiny pony I can find!EasternShowBarn

On this account:
My even line: Everything wild bay. My goal is to have ice9, satin, gulastra plume, dp, and sooty+ running around in there together. I have had a hard time reaching my goals in the lower gens but I'm finally finishing a stud this month that will make that happen. This is my even bred line by generation, but I am a benchmark breeder so I am hitting star and gold at 5th generation currently. At the moment there is a bit too much pearl and silver running around for my liking so I have to tweak some studs this month.
My bootstrap line: I am vaguely breeding for ponies under 13 hh, but I mainly keep these guys around to mass create high PT show ponies.
This season I am starting a teeny tiny KP line from foundations, mostly because I need a new project. Once it gets going, I will have only 5 or so mares per generation.
On my SweetGlow account, I only bootstrap snowflakes. I started with two *star studs heterozygous for Lp and snowflake so it has been slow going so far but my first two homozygous boys aged up this year so I will finally be getting somewhere. My goal is to make a name for myself on the snowflake leaderboards.ID 43830
It's nice to be back! :)

I work on trying to merge all my lines into soup, XD but that doesn't all happen.
Main line even (mostly) breeding:
I go for mainly black based buns, as dark and irregular patterned as possible while trying to keep white down. This means DP sooty plus, rabicano, some silvers... all that fun stuff. I recently started merging my GP line into the main one instead of breeding it separate and I am already getting surprise GP foals popping up, so I would say that is more of a success than having hem separate had been.I have many favorite founding studs represented in this line.
Bootstrap:
Basically the same thing but with bootstrapping.
Kings Ransom Bred:
Foals of King Ransom horses bred to the foals of King ransom horses. It is fun seeing what colors you get, especially after a few black out king ransom mares were thrown in giving more variety. Love this live, though I need to get back to breeding it. Before rollover I checked and I had only 8 lined mares left and some were getting old. Need to get them and my foundations producing foals again because currently that line is dying.
KP Line:
It died.
Gypsey Vanner line:
Dismantled.
Snowflake line:
Making a comeback from 2 mares to 4. Now I need to find 4g straws. haha
Nexus/ Splash M line:
Actually doing better than expected when I checked. Have a 5g star colt now, so excited.
All into high quality black based primitive duns and bootstraps.Thanked by 1DragonRun -
After writing this I realized I just turn everything into a rambling story. TLDR version, I have 3 lines, my main which is just random pasture pairings, my show, which is random pasture pairings(but not a bootstrap) and one I'm currently creating which will be pretty little silver brown riding ponies.
Last year I wasn't able to get on for a few months, when I came back I wanted a whole new restart. I sold a bunch of horses, others I kept for sentimental reasons, kept them intact and threw them in my show barn. I also bought a 1000 stall barn and started creating show horses. I also had two other accounts and merged them with this account.
At this time I noticed that we had hit 2mil creates the month before and I now had 3 DBTO straws I had to use ASAP. I got three studs, two passed SBA and papered B. One I knew wasn't going to pass so I didn't test him but he papered yellow so I kept him intact. These became the foundation of my main line. Sort of. I made a lot of sooty chestnut and sooty palomino creates hunting for livers and I purchased a few 2g fillies from auction all with the intent of creating a line with just these three studs.
I have a problem. I cannot resist colts. I can't resist RS studs. Especially the special RS. Started with the Cherry Drop release(and come on now, those are some smexy studs) which I was able to put snowflake app on and the Hidden Gates release, coinciding with mushroom. Did you resist? Because I couldn't. Finding gems in auction, had to add those, breeding my intact show horses and getting some beauts there. My main stud list has quickly gotten out of control. I haven't been able to mix them all into the line yet, let alone get some SBA passing beauties from the ones I did use.
So my main line is a free for all mess. Last month I took out some of the foundation mares(those with issue that are able to stay in the main line) and this month I'm working on weeding my studs out of the main line. I already sent some DBTO studs on their way. Kept one to myself because he creates the prettiest little foals, and I loved his dam. I have so many recessive genes mixed in this line it'll be exiting how many are carried.
All those intact horses I shoved into my show barn I breed willy nilly every month. I wouldn't call it bootstrapping because there really is no rhyme or reason. If the foal passes SBA and is pretty enough it might make it into my main line. Foals from my main line that pass SBA but isn't pretty enough, papered where I like or in the case of colts I just have no use for there but still PTed decently get thrown into my show barn. Any altered foals that PT above 11 get to stay as well.
My third line is just starting. I was hoping to buy a pasture for them during the sale in December but forgot and I don't know when's the next time I will be able to grab a pasture as I really want to add Ice15 this week. So I may have to just put them in my second pasture and breed my show ponies by hand for a while.
I have 4 studs for this line all of them a December RS that have had extensive GMT work to make them silver brown. All of them riding ponies. These will be the basis. I want to create the teeniest, tiniest little silver brown riding ponies I cant. And they will be glorious. We will see how long this plan lasts.
That's it those are the chaos I call my lines.Thanked by 1DragonRun -
oh lord... my lines are throw everything into pastures and hope for the best :))
lol but for real, i have a few specific lines that i am getting started
-Sable Champagne or Silver Black Chinchilla/Snowflake with a touch of KP in later generations. I also have ice 9 in my chinchilla lines
-Mushroom/Snowflake/KP
-Nacre/Gray - and i will be introducing watercolor and ice 9 in for gen 3
-Ice 10/Wrong Warp/Thunderstruck
-Satin with white spotting genes and any ice genes
-My ice genes mix themselves into all my other lines, same with my white spotting genes
-I have DP in pretty much everything because i use mostly Freaky Fridays for Mod-ing
-Nexus and Axiom are starting to become "bonus" lines. If i get them, great! But i have been more focused on my other lines.
A lot of my older lines were very unorganized so trying to rein in all the chaos from before. I have been avoiding it, but i need to go on a "snip everything" cull spree.Bluegrass Server: HayesStable - 221755

So, I'm reading what you guys are up to, and noticing that I might have a pony addiction. Between the two servers I have 6 basic accounts to contain my different dream lines. I want to merge them, but they work so well separate. If my paycheck improves I might have to take turns having 2-3 on premium at a time. Til then...
Seaswell: Black or brown based, prefer silver appies with chinchilla and ice 13. DP, sooty, and sooty plus run wild. Sabino 1 and w10 have been sprinkled in heavier than snowflake & ice 8.
Hollowbetheink: Chestnut. Liver chestnut appie ( no bay or wild bay as much as I can) with mushroom watercolor nexus sprinkled with snow flakes and ice 8. Did I mention I love pearl?
Seaswell22: Blue roan appies with or without champagne. Nexus and brown keep trying to sneak in.
Kanorah: Bay based chestnut appies. Snowflake has been sneaking in here for awhile, and I'm watching the gene sales for a reason to make a kitm stud.
DejaRea: Wild bay with all the darkening genes, splash appie frame, with Sabino 1, w10, pearl and snowflake making an appearance. Thank you Lally for the gustra plume secret boys with sooty plus. :x
Seaswell, server 1: Tiny petite greys, heavy on tobiano and champagne, with an eye on slipping in ice 9.
As you can see they all have thing in common, but I really like the challenge of when I want to add a gene finding a stud that matches the right group of mares.45120Thanked by 1DragonRun -
My lines are:
M1: Brown and wild bay based, preferred with Chinchilla. I also have lots of ice, watercolor, plaid, cream, pearl and any other shiny genes in there.
M2: DP, preferred with mushroom. I also have lots of ice, watercolor, plaid, cream, pearl and any other shiny genes in there.
M3: Satin
M4: Snowflake
KP: Wich is then divided into M1/M2/M3
GP: Wich is then divided in to M1/M3
I also do an M prefix for any that does not fit into any of the above, but I still want to breed to enhance my other lines.
I want to work towards having all brown/wild bay based chinchillas as M1 and all mushroom DPs as M2, but I am still a way from realising that dream.ID 108Thanked by 1DragonRun -
I only have 1 line now, I used to have the starts of a bootstrapping line and the start of a gp line but I didn't have the time or space to keep them. Now I just have the one KP line that has mushroom, Sooty +. kitM and W8. It started with Cheer's stallion Day Of The Moon and Flying Stunners Apocalyptic Horseman. Now I have my first foundation stallion, who is a Rhythm of Four stallion with hom KP, Mushroom, Sooty + and White 8. I'm only one my 5th generation of breedable ponies atm, but I think I have some 6th gens coming of age next month.21170Thanked by 1DragonRun

I would love to have separate lines, but at the moment they are all in a big jumble. My overall goal is to breed the tiniest ponies (mostly cobs) in all the colours and be on all the leader boards. Two lines I'm somewhat working on are:
- flaxen black liver chestnut with mushroom, kp and w10
- nacre + watercolour + splash m unicorns
A lot of my ponies are at least het kp or het snowflake. I've also introduced gulastra plume and nexus.Thanked by 1DragonRun -
Here on the BlackWyld, as we know, I only breed for “black” drafts (Always E, no A/A+/At). My main line is the Black Brindle Army. It is a line where all foundation stallions and mares must be black brindle. It is sort of segregated into 3 main lines and 3 side lines at the moment that I will probably begin to mix and match at around 3rd and 4th generations.
The BBA Chinchilla line (Chinchilla is becoming my ultimate passion) revolves around my three beloved studs that between them will incorporate Chinchilla, Satin, Snowflake, Nexus, a bit of Pearl, a bit of KP, a bit of nd1, S+, Splash M, and Kits M/W3/W8/W10 and a bit of Ice 3.
The BBA Cosmic Ice line comprises of 5 TBN studs that are all het nexus and between them carry Ices 2/4/6/7/8/9/11/12/13/14. I intend to just keep mish-moshing these all together to see how the different combos of ice look with het, hom, and no nexus. I may work them into my chin line eventually.
Then I have my boys, Ronin and Rollick who are both Silver Black boys Hom for DP, KP, Snowflake, and S+. Rollick is also Hom nd1 and het pearl (Thanks Lally!) between the two they will pass on Kits M/W3/W8/W10 to their offspring.
I then have a couple of stand-alone boys whose offspring will probably mingle with my other lines:
Undren Abyss who is Hom for Pearl, Satin, and Nexus and het for snowflake, S+, and W8.
Elenathir who is het for nexus and both sabinos, because I absolutely love sabino and het nexus.
Batman Blitz who is a straight up basic TBN with just hom satin, cause I love that simple black satin look as well.
The above boys currently have almost 190 black brindle mares to share between them and all of them are blowing my mind and doing me proud.
I have a few non brindle black based stallions that I made before I decided to create the BBA. I hold onto them mostly for sentimentality reasons and also because I can’t stop hoarding black based RS so have a ton of non brindle RS ladies that need some lovin’.
I have a VoS Splash M stud, Edge of the Universe, who spends most of his time with the RS girls.
I had my first Chin stud, Netflix and ChinChill, (a SPW) who enjoyed my RS girls before moving on to join Lally’s SPW Army but his offspring (mixed with the offspring of Cheer’s Political Gain) carry on their own chinchilla line.
I have my snowflake stud Pyroclastic who had his own group of experf and expro appy girls all to himself but will soon be joined by my new First Snow stud, Nimphelos, who will add some flash in the form of satin, pearl, nd1, and maybe a fancy kit gene into my snowflake line.
I then have my “black” livers which are split into two main lines, a mushroom line presided over by my hom PATN boy, Loose Morels, and my straight black liver line (where I avoid almost all diluting genes to keep them as “black” as possible) where I have three new Freaky Friday boys who will be adding Satin, and Kits M/W3/W8/W10/Sabino 2 to a line that must be 100% hom DP and hom Sty by third gen.
And then!... I have my bootstrap line that at first was a way for me to let off steam and play with other bone sizes and colours outside of black, while giving me pretty show horses at the same time, that is slowly evolving to be black based as well, the taller and heavier the better. (Which is hard when most of the quality stock I am buying to boost my lines are predominantly sport ponies descendants from Dark Star stock. LOL!) I want to plug as much shininess into these lines as possible and currently have a fair amount of pearl, satin, ices 1 &8, and nexus (still waiting on my first hom nexus), along with the less lethal kit genes. The line (like all my lines) is still very young but I am hoping to eventually start making taking a decent crack at the higher pts and reaching the level where I have a decent amount of fillies passing SBA.
And then and then!... I have some Dance Between Two Oceans grandsons that I picked up and really wanted to do something with that desperately need some loving. I should just sell them but I put some GMT work into them and am sentimental. My plan was a silver smokey grullo roan line with S+ and pearl that would stem from them (They are the inspiration behind Ronin and Rollick). I need more girls for them and may incorporate their genetics into my non brindle Chinchilla and Splash M lines.

Haha, my barns are a multitasking disaster!
Here goes!
Basic lines:
- Bootstrap line (draft)
- Bootstrap line (RH)
- Bootstrap line (cob)
- Bootstrap line (riding pony) (work in progress)
- SPWA - Silver Pocket Watch Army - an assortment of six beautiful foundie studs (including the lovely Netflix and ChinChill), 200 foundation mares (well, more, but I only have two 100 acre pastures), all tossed together for fun and every single one a silver pocket watch. All foals SBA'd without hesitation, then further culled. (I had five colts from one stud so identical that I finally had to use white factor and consistency to cull them, and I'm almost always a genes first kinda gal).
- GP line: in progress, being reshuffled to play nicely with my new apocalypse ponies (themed line below)
- SK line - hom snowflake, kp, dp, pearl. The offspring of the famed Frozen Speckles
- Whites line - a bit of minor bootstrapping of w8, w3, w10. Bits of tobiano mixed in. Aiming for star/golds.
Fantasy/closed lines:
- Axioms/ww/ice/plaid all jumbled together
- watercolor/thunderstruck/nacre all together
- macchiato/chin/nexus are with the SPWA, though I have a few non SPW of each that I still play with
Themed lines:
- Shine Line (breeding for the perfect Akhal-teke, and I'm demanding an exact genetic code: EE A+A+ CprlCprl dd gg FF SS pp ZZ ChCh sasa WF: None - RH, 17+hh)
- Apocalyptic Horseplay (one foundie each of GP/DP/SNF/KP, themed after the four horsemen)
- Timeout Corner (Ralph offspring. Need I say more?)
So yeah, uh, 14 lines plus shall we say a "line" of random breedings of curiosity that happen throughout the month? 15 groups of disaster to keep track of? Thankfully half of those are pretty small =))ID 45703 | he/himOpen barn policy - no closed lines! I'm always selling straws and eggs from anything I have that catches your eye, don't hesitate to PM me and ask!Thanked by 1DragonRun -
@WildAcres I might have a 4g boy that is or carries SF you could have... i'll have to double check. Let me know if you have a preference for body type or base colors, and i'll see what i have.
My lines are being reorganized last month and this month. Hopefully i have it done by the middle of this month. Breathless is brand new. I pulled Bit (my S+ Dp Kp SF GP pony) from my light herd to go with Memo (work in progress, A papered) to start this line. The rest are a recombination of previous lines, so i have up to 5G on several.
Breathless - this is my boosted suprise/hidden gene line. It has Dense Pheomelanin, Gulastra Plume, Kit Promoter and Snowflake. It also has Sooty+ and Non Dun 1. Black, brown and liver based preferred, with or without White Spotting, Appaloosa and/or Rabicano. The foundation broodmares are all Red papered, except a handful of Yellow papered Snowflake carriers. The Herdsires are two heavily GMT'D boys that carry all or most of the previously named genes, one B papered and one A papered. This is a predominantly lightweight line.
Limited Edition - this is my closed gene line. It has mushroom, chinchilla and macchiato. All base colors with preference to wild bay and brown. White patterns and dilutions desirable. All body types.
Vermillion - non sooty DP line. All base colors, little to no white patterns, limited dilution genes. Mostly heavyweight, but trying to work in light bone.
Anchorage & Collective - not true lines, per say, but these are the designations I use for non sooty & sooty horses, respectively, that don't really fit in another line. I hope to eventually phase these two groups out as the generations progress, so these are mostly foundation and low gen mares. Assorted colors, sizes and shapes.
Bootstrap - self explanatory. Assorted colors, sizes and shapes. Some open fantasy genes.

What an interesting thread! I love reading about what others do. As for myself:
AMillionReasons Line: This is a line founded by my 2G stallion SA Millionaire (a son Mr Meteroic Milestone). This line breeds for tall drafts that carry W10 and Snowflake with a heavy influence from pearl, DP and some KP. It’s well established and going strong.
KP line: I have a small KP draft line that I sometimes blend into other lines when I want to add KP influence.
Satin Line: This is a line of satin warmbloods that does not focus on even breeding but rather high papers and pt scores with the satin sheen. It’s goijng very well and I’m now throwing star and golds.
S+ Line: A small project aimed purely at breeding hom DP, S+, ideally buckskin drafts with gorgeous dapples. Just a bit of fun.Breeder of Chocolate Chinchilla, Nexus Chinchilla, Satin Chinchilla and DP Mushroom Drafts and CobsThanked by 1DragonRun -
My lines are all about the DP.
I have only been playing about 8 months, so I am just starting some new projects with some gene modified studs.
So far, my lines are
1) Mushroom, based on my Hidden Gates stallion and Cheery Drop HOM MU stallion and mare (Thermopolae and Sakura).
2) Chinchilla, based on my by tobiano Blackest night stallion Cunning Plan.
3) Snowflake, based on my lucky create hom SNF expro appy mare SnowStar, and fabulous straws from many players here. I have just added an ice9 stallion to it.
4) Buckskin sooty + and KP. This is sort of a mishmash of these genes.
5) Satin, in brown and black.
The above lines also have pearl, silver, and occasional dun for interest. White is Splash M, sabino, W3, and W8. I avoid K20 and splash if at all possible.
So far
I have been breeding even papered foundations. But I discovered that C to Yellow papered horses are low producers, even if they pass SBA. So no I am experimenting with crossing papers in the first generation, for mares that have a healthy pasture bonus.Thanked by 1DragonRun -
for the most part I have 3 main lines. they cross a bit and i have a few sub-lines branching off of them but..
DP line (CG Dense Phenomenon) this is my oldest line. i think I've been breeding this line for around 3 years now. believe it or not I've barely made any progress with it. life just gets in the way and i cant afford the barns to hard them all anymore.
For this line i most breed for drafts or WB. I really like them to be S+ if I'm able to get a hold of it and breed DP into chestnut, brown and palomino for the most part
my 2nd line is a champagne line (CG PoorMansGold) I think gold champagne look like pearl horses but its a lot cheaper, hence the tattoo/line name. I really like the gold cream but the tend to mostly look all alike so I try to breed from classic and sable the most.
and then lastly is my RH line (CGL Aqtiarusa Light.) I think I have the largest restriction on this line. I try to get all hom sooty bay and brown with a few blacks. I strive to get Splash, sabino, or tobiano on them as well, frame preferred.
As for sublines I allow splash frame on all lines, have several sabinos, ice, and lots of Tobi and rabicanos. my last line is my Bootstrap horses. I have a gen 11 satin stud that and a gen 3 KP stud that I breed to my 4th gen and up mares. lots of flashy show kids in there----

I would say I only have one line - a DP brown/liver/black with white spots
That said I do use S+, satin, pearl and the odd bit of chocolate/DP buckskin. And the spots can be appaloosa, tobiano, splash M, kit M, W2, W3, W8 and lots of W10.
I do have mushroom which I use with my livers mainly but the line is young and I am putting my white spots into them too.
I bootstrap a bit - but I have cut down loads of my mares by putting some through BA - most weren't ready yet :( but that's ok I had too many of them anyway. (I put about 100 gold mares through and 18 made it - ouch!)
I have wrong warp but I have no line for that - i just make pretty patterned show ponies with that one! :DBreeding brown/liver/black with white spotting drafts. If you ever fancy straws PM me. PM me if you need help with GE.Thanked by 1DragonRun -
I have SO many lines. But I do like to mix them up. But I name them at the front of their name so I can decide which I want to mix and match that month.
Liver line (from double sooty)
Red Dun (from Dun)
Grullo (From dun and black)
Silver Black
blue roan
appaloosa
Classic champagne
Plain black
Which thereabout quanitifies all of my goals right there. So I don't really have strict lines.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

I’m trying to get my lines centered down on dainty, tiny riding ponies with mega Appaloosa spots, a variety of white markings, in DP/S+ colors.
Playing pretty fast and loose with the rules, but want to get my type set so I can focus on improving the line and chasing points and awards.Thanked by 1DragonRun
