I have a hard time keeping what I have in my tank straight. How does everyone do it? I have tried making lists but they constantly change.

Would love a way to search for who i have stored that is mushroom and who is nexus etc- espially because we all name them alittle different

I made a spreadsheet on excel. You can turn on and off filters so you can look for specific genes, generations, and papers :)

I have an excel spreadsheet and includes bone, height, pt score, paper level, generations, genetic letters, color name, flags any lethal or fantasy genes, breeder, and who I got the straw from (in case I end up wanting to go back for more). At least makes it easy to search.

Spreadsheet here too but it's a mangled out of date mess >.>
Definitely a huge wishlist to be able to search up the horses I have eggs/straws from! And also if when you visited the horse's page if it said "you have x straws from this horse" so you don't end up buying ten more from a gorgeous horse you haven't used the first five from! :))

I have a written list in a notebook but like others, it’s hopelessly out of date. Also, people keep changing the names of horses I’ve bought straws/eggs from (ok, usually it’s the prefix that changes), so my alphabetical list doesn’t match what shows up on my dropdown menu! That is somewhat frustrating for me...

This is exacerbated by the fact that I actually do relatively little lab breeding, yet I buy straws and eggs like it’s going out of style... I’m a total sucker for a grab bag sale or a pretty stallion advertisement....

What I wish is that we could name (or even just prefix) straws and eggs in our own freezers instead of the name being changed based on the owner of the horse. If I could just put down 3 or 4 characters at the front of whatever the owner’s name and code is, I could identify at a glance what each item was (generation and genes) and really easily use them in a drop down menu system. I suspect that would be a programming nightmare though, so will never happen.

I have to look at the stallion I have a straw from the straw for sale bit and get him up in a separate tab so I can then find a girl for him. I am always amazed at how many straws I have and there are a few in there I can't remember where they came from :D

I like to be as surprised as anyone when I open my freezer. I've had bundles I'd forgotten about fall out on my head a couple of times. :))

I wish our forum had a category named Freezer that each member could run and update their own thread with their own straws, so there was an actual place to see my whole collection at a glance. **THIS ** looks good, but if everyone keeps one it clutters the board.

I'd love a box at the bottom of a studs page, like for sale, that said "Use Straw". That only appears when you have straws.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. It would be awesome even if we could just type a couple of things just like cheer said that I can put like 1G mushroom or you know something like that to be able to breviate for us and we knew what they were

Bwahaha! I just toss 'em in there. I never know what I have. I periodically have a breeding season where I just use all the straws from horses I don't remember getting straws from! Then I realize that I pulled 984 straws from a stallion that I will NEVER USE AGAIN, and have a sale, or send them off to never never straw land!

I tend to use straws right away so I don't have this problem! I have 2 or 3 straws right now that aren't my own studs and I'll probably try to match them off this season :P

I have a notepad on my laptop where I keep them all. I list name, generation, papers, body type and all color genetics. Makes it super easy to find a good match.

Yeah, I think if I played on a laptop that’s exactly how I would do it. I play on my iPad though, so I can’t see two windows open at once. I thought about doing it all on my phone but I don’t think I could see enough information on one screen at a time to easily sort there... first world problem for sure though!!!

I probably should create a document now from the handwritten list I have....I just updated it today to do some straw breeding before pastures opened...but pastures are open now so there’s no way I’ll be that sensible!!!

I open the sell straw/egg page in a separate tab, so I can follow the link to particular horses to see what they are, then try and find a match for them. Sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed though LOL!

We won't be having an option to add notes to them, but a link to a search result with what you have is possible.
