Do we have anyone affected by the government shut down? We would like to help!
  • Much as we all love this game, I know it is a luxury item, and when money gets tight those are the things that you have to give up first. But I also know it is a wonderful way to relax and escape the real world for a while! So, if you are on furlough, or working without a paycheck, let me know. If you are not comfortable making it public, please send me a PM. I will bet my barns that there are other players who would like to help out as well. While we can't pay the rent, we can help you keep your pixel pony addiction under control!

  • A friend of mine who also boards a horse at the facility I work at is affected. She's having such a hard time. Thank goodness the barn owner was kinda enough to tell her not to worry about board for now and just take care of herself.

It's the kindness of others that get us through tough times.

That being said I am more than willing to help!
  • I am very willing to send some pixel money I can't do real money as I'm too broke myself but I have plenty of money in the game to help out any in need

  • I can't say the shutdown affected me much, but some other things from the government have greatly... when things just start breaking you and your mood, you know it's bad...

  • same thing happened to my family, Rose. i have a family of four, (me, my mother, and two siblings) and that was our lifeline- now we have to wait two more months before we are able to get any extra help, while paying out of pocket for groceries.

  • @RoseMorning and @MariaChapinFarm3, I am sorry your families are still dealing with the repercussions of this chaos. My husband lost his job the week before Christmas. It wasn’t due to government failure, just really bad timing. We got a SNAP card in the mail around week four of his unemployment, but it has remained at a zero balance. What was the point of the program spending money to make, issue, and mail the card? We are not holding our breath on it ever actually being loaded. When my husband starts his new job (hopefully within the next two weeks), I’ll use it as a bookmark, so at least it wasn’t a total waste of resources and plastic.

Fortunately, we have friends and family who are able to help us out with our bills and keep us from losing our home. Some very kind friends are buying us food until he is working again, but not everybody has that option. People who depend on these programs to put food on their tables continue to be really screwed. The paychecks may have started being issued again, but the consequences of this mess will be felt for a very long time. Please know you haven’t been forgotten just because the goverment is technically open again. It is still far from recovered. Please keep us updated on how we can help.
