Favorite Horse that was bred by someone else?
-
Just a fun little thing, do you have a favorite horse or a horse that really helped to build your lines that was bred by someone else? I think it's neat to see what you let go, that someone else prized.
Mine was Miss Opaque Player, originally bred by Mystic Rose. Went through auction and a couple of owners before coming to me. I got my first Star and Gold from her line. Several of my top and prized horses go back to her, she really helped build me.

These two lads have helped guide me and given me ideas of what I want my own stud and lines to look like

I don't use either of them nearly as much as I want to though :(Thanked by 1supersarah -
This boy originally bred/owned by BlueValley. He is my go-to Snowflake stallion and the stallion I cross nearly all my Millionaire daughters with. He has had a huge impact on my breeding and I keep a lot off his offspring :D I have never once regretted buying him and for what he's done for my herd he's more then paid back what it cost to buy him ^^

This guy was originally owned and bred by NorthernStars. She offered him up for me when I lost my last white M stud, Shimmer Splat, who I absolutely adored. Paint The Snowflake has been so good for my herd and thrown so many blue/A papered babies with beautiful coloring. My first 5G gold mare descended from him. Also, I had forgotten he was het snowflake, and when I bred two of his offspring together last season, I got a surprise hom snowflake baby! So happy about that! This guy keeps getting better and I will cherish my last few seasons with him. :x

This boy is awesome. I didn't find him until he was almost old enough to pass out of the game, but Cheers sold me some straws on 2 separate occasions. He throws awesome foals and gave me the opportunity to get satin in my heard way back at gen 2. Before him, the only het satin gen 2 I had was my Oceans colt, and even though he's sadly passed, he'll continue to have a huge impact on my herd through his sons and daughters :). Thank you, Cheers! -
A couple seasons ago, I had the opportunity to buy this lovely guy from Cheers. I had been looking for a way to incorporate W3 into my lines for some time and he allowed me to do that. :x

I have several - so many people have helped me, whether directly or indirectly, to grow my lines! - but one that stands out off the top of my head is this purty lady bred by Wildland Acres.
B Golden Singularity
I bought her because she was pretty, but she's gone above and beyond! Every foal she's thrown me has been gold/star without fail, the colts passing SBA more often than not despite being in my bootstrap lines! Both times she's ended up paired with my prize stud, she's thrown the Best of Pasture foal, SBA passing colts that will be nearly perfect replacements for their sire.
That brings me to another favorite of mine, said stud, bred by Kintara.
KT Bootstrap Bob
He has really given my bootstrap program the extra boost it needed! I'm finally producing enough golds that in a season or three I'll have culled all the blues, and my herd is looking shinier than ever. :xID 45703 | he/himOpen barn policy - no closed lines! I'm always selling straws and eggs from anything I have that catches your eye, don't hesitate to PM me and ask! -
So far is definitely gonna be this guy. I'm looking at starting a Satin line. Hes going to be the founding stud. Ps, if anyone has Satin mares they'd be willing to part with please let me know.
Wyld Bandit -
For me it was Lambrusco Star. He was a favorite of mine when I started the game, and I was thrilled when Cheers sold him to me. His genes still flow through many of my horses.

My all time favourite and long time deceased was this boy;

He definitely stamped the foundation of what I want with my lines and he was at the time I bought him just a spontaneous purchase.#4519Thanked by 1supersarah -
Aww! I remember Miss Opaque Player.
I have tons of horses I have recieved from a lot of players that I LOVE. So thank you to everyone who has given me horses. But they are new, and so I don't know yet the impact they will have. Thank you to Goobanni on the numerous fantastic horses you have given me. Thank you Kintara for the 2G A mushroom w8 stud. Thank you of course to Cheers who ALWAYS has something for whatever crazy ISO I have that day....
but... today, I have to write about Tagamon. I miss her SO much.
She has 30 foals but easily 400 grandfoals, greatgrandfoals, and great great grandfoals....
A4S Tagamon
I have a few eggs left from her, and I'm trying to decide if I want to find the highest star stud I can possibly find for her last foals, or just a very pretty medium/low star.
Some foals even have her 3 times in their pedigree! Although a lot of her foals were prolific, Tagamon Forrest had the most if anyone wants to look him up. (deceased).Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

Oh for me it is hands down Drogon owned by @RubyJoFarm
He has given me the most gorgeous babies and I've even kept the majority of the alters for show ponies because they are just so pretty!

Well I have several favorites, but my current favorite is a stallion by @SpottyStud. He gave me my first Gold mare, and I’ve been in love since. I was thrilled when SpottyStud sold him to me. I haven’t used him a ton yet since my selection of 5g mares is limited.

I bought this guy. He's just so big and he looks like a foil filigree unicorn. It looks like I haven't used him for breeding yet. Bred by @ParadisePark
WG MightyJr 2G
Got her through November's foal swap, I think. She's breedable next month. Can't wait start using her. From @WhiteMountain
Big Dream
Another foal swap baby. He had a decent season. 3 foals I decided to keep. From @AgainstTheOdds
The Nature of Diamonds
I don't actually remember buying this one but that seems to happen with most horses I don't throw immediately into the pasture. You have no idea how many horses I found to own that I didn't breed and my only thought was "huh?" But I really love Gray Watercolor, they are so much fun. Bred by @Summervine

Probably my favorite horse was the first stallion I purchased in auction by bellerophon. He was a beautiful gray with w2 and frame, so it looked like he had sliver lace along his back and hips. I used him on as many mares as I could, but quit using him when I learned Frame could be lethal. Not to mention he started losing his pretty silver as the gray gene made him white. He also had very uneven breeding, so eventually I sold him. But quickly regretted that mistake, so when I saw him pop up for sale again I instantly bought him back without a second thought. Eventually I gelded him, but he’s still a favorite and isn't leaving my barn again.

I have several new favorites, but my current favorite is my first HET Nexus stallion by @SquishLime. I've only bred him twice but he gave me my first blue filly, I can't wait to breed him some more next season!!

This stud was given to me by @fj1482 when I first started playing. He got me started on my love of wild bay and contributed to lots of my early lines. He has since been gelded to make room in the stud barns but he has a forever home with me as a show horse.

My all time favourite purchased horse is this stallion:
BV Bold Fire 5OS
He throws gorgeous foals and I just love everything about him. I bought him from Bourbon. :)
Two more favourites are snowflakes, they've both produced really good for me and carry genes I actively breed for.
BV Snow Ball 2hSfOPDp
I traded a snowflake for snowflake for this beautiful girl with Goobanni.
BV Dark Frost 3hSfDp
And this stellar stallion has been my go to third gen stud for a literal year. He was a Secret Santa gift from last year, GallifreyanAngel picked so well for me!ID# 25784Thanked by 1supersarah
