(showing prospect) ???
-
Alright so I have a foal I bred this year and her gender says mare(showing prospect) what exactly does this entail because she is one of the bests foals so far in terms of points. Is this just saying that she has the possibility to be a good show horse or that she defenitely will or? Thanks!Barn ID# 14199

It means that you must have tested her with the auto spay/geld turned off for the showing aptitude test. The test determined that she's is a much better shower than a breeder. So she should make you a decent show pony. Your best off spaying her to get the best show horse you can. She won't make you a good broodmare anyway.

Just out of curiosity - if a horse has a higher breeding score than its parents, but an even higher showing ability than breeding ability, will it test as a showing prospect? So that even though it'll make a better show horse, it is still a good breeding animal? I haven't found a place where that's clearly defined.

I would also like to know the answer to Denalidom's question.

A horse can never have a higher breeding score than its parents as well as a higher showing ability than breeding ability?
-
That isn't how the test works. A horse will never be better then it's parents and a way worse breeder then shower.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.

Thanks for the answer, Ammit! I have often wondered what that actually meant as far as breeding ability. All into high quality black based primitive duns and bootstraps.Thanked by 1Ammit

Yep, if you get an SP marked horse you can be assured it is not a good breeder.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.
