Puppy Pregnancy **SUPER UPDATE!**

Well, my Dalmatian is preggers! This is her (and my) first litter and I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I have a friend coming in form out of town and we're going to get some pictures of her and my male Dalmatian. I know I'm ridiculous but I want some cute maternity photos haha
Anyone have any ideas for me? -

Yep - this is her first litter! And boy is she NEEDY. I took all day off from the computer and everything yesterday to just spend the day with her lol She demands cuddles. This is her sleeping between my legs and covered up. With Atticus being very jealous.
They only tied once and this was not planned. They must have tied at the RIGHT time for her to ovulate lol
I am so nervous and excited. I got her whelping box/area put together tonight. We should be having puppies around 1 week. i will definitely post pictures! -
Just keep an eye on daddy when it’s time. The moms definitely are opposed to having males around for a few days afterwards.
She must be getting uncomfortable and is just wanting some reassurance, my girl was the same way with her first litter. She wouldn’t leave my side the last two weeks of her pregnancy.
She looks cute cuddled up with you! -
@fallenshadows714 - what do you breed? I do think she is getting very uncomfortable. She is getting bigger day by day. She's just whining now because I'm on the computer fighting with the cable provider and not on the couch with her.

@RedDeeFarms My ex mother-in-law bred Miniature Yorkies. And I had a mix breed (Pit Bull/Lab) that escaped the house while we were getting new furniture and came home pregnant. Dad must have been a German Shepherd or mixed Shepherd, a couple pups looked like they were mixed with one. The closer she got to her due date the more she just wanted to cuddle, she was miserable. That litter had 13 pups.

Yep, we lost one, but she was one busy mama! She was a good mom for her first time though, had them all cleaned up well and didn’t need any help. But lord once they got mobile she was done. There was just no containing them lol

Sooooo cute! First time momma dogs usually are always uncomfortable because of the weight, moving, and energy the pups take. It's hard work for a pregnant mother even though it doesn't look like it. Also the whining will get worse especially on labor day I'm sure. But I do think that during labor it's not that bad as their main focus is on giving birth to the pups. But I've never helped nor seen a dog give birth in person so I could be completely wrong here. But holy cow 13 puppies!?! That's A LOT for one litter let alone a first time momma! Can you imagine having 13 kids to take care of at once for your very first time? I'd never come back home from vacation, yet let alone have anymore kids!

She is a remarkable mother; we're so blessed.

So glad they all made it. Beautiful puppies!
I used to breed American Staffordshire years ago.
I never had a problem with my male around the puppies, yes she would chase him off at first but just a warning, as they got older he played with them until they went to their new homes, raising puppies is a. hard job, lots of cleaning :)
