Someone recently told me that it was impossible to have a foal pass SBA if the parents have more than a paper level difference. I just proved them wrong without even trying. Just doing my normal breeding routine right now.

True they only papered A(same as sire) and are only AGA sire. And the sire is probably a low A then but they came from Yellow mares, no pasture bonus and they passed SBA. So HA. I did it. Worship me!

And if anyone couldn't tell, all this high and mighty stuff is an act. Please don't get offended.

Haha, nicely done! What that person meant was if the parents were more than a paper difference above the foal, but it's still a nice treat to get a SBA passing bootstrap!

Oooooh, I didn't notice the foal had been papered. That makes sense. Still I think it awesome that you can get passing foals from wildly different parents.

I see now, we were having two different conversations. I checked out before they explained themselves.

Again, like I said in that thread... That is not what I was saying. I said it was impossible for a foal to pass if there is a paper level between the foal and one of its parents.

Though now I wonder if it's possible to get a Star/Gold from a Star/Yellow cross.

I didn't even read the comments in this thread.

But yes, it is possible to get star/gold from a star/yellow cross. I have several in my bootstrap program.

At least I thought I did. Looks like they were from red mares. But you gotta remember that Star and Gold have a much wider span than the other levels, so a very high star/gold could probably do it, while a low star/gold could not.

Definitely possible for a star/gold from a star/yellow cross.
My favorite gal is proof lol.
