Foal art has been updated and there is now a unique foal image for each of the 3 bone weights.

I still have some pixel perfecting to do on these so you may see a stray pixel here and there but I wanted to get these out asap. Enjoy!

I am not sure about the new art on the warmblood foals. I was happy with how they looked before, but it may grow on me.

I love the new draft foals. Stunner, I think the bodies on the warmbloods are excellent, but the head is a bit long for a baby.

How do we contribute art to the game? I few foals like that will be cute, but I've honestly been apprehensive about next foal season these past few days. A few warmblood colts like like would be cute, and I'm glad you are accomplishing your goals, and I love the work and care you are constantly putting into making this game better. I didn't want to be a downer before, but if you are interested in feedback and alternate suggestions...

Anyone can be a critic, being an artist is really hard. That is why I pay professional artists for work on the game when ever I can and trust their judgment. If you want you can send me a PM with examples of your art. I am always looking for good artists that can improve upon what we have in the game. I pay game credit, and then for US based artists age 18+ it can be cash payments as well for the right work.

@Ammit I am ok at drawing, but CGI is not my thing.

The new art is not CGI, it was drawn by our wonderful artist Tia Justice. :)

So is it simple line art, or does one need to know how to use fancy art programs?

You have to know how to use a graphic design program like photoshop. Otherwise how would the art get in the game? Then that art has to meet extremely specific specs. There is very little that is simple about the generator.

Ok. Though we love how complex the generator is. :) A lot of my qualms with the new art have been subsided when I was sketching some ideas and a friend pointed out that I was drawing newborns while the image currently is a weanling. Now that I know what I'm looking at the new art isn't nearly as bad as I thought. I actually kinda like it. But it will be cool seeing what people can come up with.

I have just one comment--I remember that when the light horses and ponies first arrived, I wasn't too sure I liked their appearance, but the more I got used to them, the better I liked them. I'm sure the same thing will happen with the new foal pics.

Yep people love to criticize new things because to them it is just a new thing. They don't have any idea the massive amount of work and effort that goes in, and have no ideas that choices and concessions that had to be made so everything works with the generator. Even if they where photo perfect someone would still feel the need to say how they like longer shoulders or something. The goal is not perfection, the goal is constant improvement. This new art is huge improvement over what we had. Period.

I simply do not understand why when we have an improvement people have to nitpick while ignoring that it is an overall massive improvement. There will never be perfect for everyone so should I just never improve anything?

That is why I just say now if you think you can do better, show me. If what you can do is an even bigger improvement I will go with that. But I have never once had someone who criticized art improvements ever step up and offer something better. Like I said above it is easy to be a critic, hard to be an artist.

I am very lucky to have found an amazing artist who is so talented and reliable who can vastly improve on what my attempts where able to produce.

Also as an aside I pay money for art, so when someone says "this should be changed" they are asking me to pay extra money to match their sense of aesthetics. Again why I say if you can do better show me, because I know for a fact that I can't do better myself.
