@MariaChapinFarm3 I do actually do a lot of pet commissions on surprisingly Facebook. I’ve acrually finished up a pair of Basset hounds yesterday, and there’s some talks of a cat commission. I honestly wouldn’t know what to charge for something like this, it’s so simple for me!

@SquishLime I've always been pretty creative, I think it's one of those things you either are or you aren't. You're probably a lot more grounded than me though ;)

@ATouchOfGenetics Oh man, I used to do do photo manips! They're pretty tricky to do, it's not only finding the right image with the right lighting, getting all the values/colours right and believable is so hard! Kuddos to you!

@MoonAcre Stables Thank you very kindly! I did doodle the chairmans of the equine society horse once back in Uni but she didn't like it at all. I guess each to their own!

@Seaswell22 I don't think I've ever drawn a Husky before. They're super animated characters!

I guess, maybe it might be nice to show y'all what I produce when I put in a little more effort?

So this is the Basset hound pet commission I finished this week. This one was considered a 'quickie' as it's small.

This was a for fun piece of my love of LoZ.

@SandycreekFarm The Bassets were quite a lot of fun to draw! It was a bit of a challenge with the wrinkles but I'm glad it came out so well! I was totally expecting the commissioner to choose the proud girlie Basset!

@MoonAcre Stables honestly, it was such a blow! In her words, "It wasn't a true to life rendition of Ginger." What stung enough more was a fineart friend just copied a picture and she was sung so much praise.

I'm on the pricier side as illustration is my only income plus I don't just copy the reference images (how boring is that??). Depending on the amount of characters, animal species, background, size and printing it can easily be between £30 and £150+. Most people tend to go for the £120-£130 one where it's a A4, two pets/characters (dog/cat), simple background and printed/shipped. The horse I posted above would be in the £30 category.

We end up with really talented folks around here. Sunwolf (who used to play on HJ1, more, but may still be lurking around in the shadows!) used to sell her art work to folks on the game. I have 2 LOVELY portraits she did for me

And my first real life horses, and my aussie. All three have passed now, and never met in real life, so the artwork is SO super special!

@ConfluenceFarms oh wow! They're super talented! I can see why it would they're special to you!

@MariaChapinFarm3 it depends on where you are in the world. I'm OK with shipping inside the UK as it'll be max 1/3 of the costs, but there would be a bigger fee for outside. Mostly I just give a personal license for use, and give the file so you can get it printed at your own cost as it's cheaper for both of us :)
