Hi all! I've been trying to start a draft line ever since they came into the game, but I keep changing my mind about what color(s) I want. I do know that I'd like them to look sorta like clydesdales with high whites and such... I'm guessing I should look for sabinos/splash? I'm also interested in gray. If you want to take a look at the drafts I have they are in my draft barn: http://hj2.huntandjump.com/member.php?b_id=13086 .
So give me any ideas on colors/patterns that you have (even if it's not the colors I've written above)! I can't afford GMTing, though. You may also advertise your breeding-material foundation drafts that you have for sale/stud!
FYI I already have chestnut and silver grullo/red dun warmblood lines, so I want something different for my drafts.

Well, I clicked the link you posted above, and it went to a Draft horse barn of that ID#, but there were no horses in the barn.

I think a dark silver bay with splash would be a nice looking line breed, or even just a dark bay splash. You could vari it by mixing in gray, but I would think that if you did gray, it really doesn't matter what color the base is, as they will eventually all go gray. If you use different colors, then they will look interesting as they gray, to see how each color grays up.

I agree with KerredansCorral that dark bay splash would be a good goal for a Clydesdale-like look.

I didn't realize that the selection of bay draft horses was so limited, but when I searched I found this stud: http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=423320 . He is a perfect foundation stallion so I think he would produce lovely foals if you breed him to splash mares.

If you want, I can keep an eye out for splash herd helpers and bay herd helpers and post them to this thread. :)

EDIT: I just had a look through my herd and I have these two mares.

F3 Sooty Buck
Being a sooty buckskin, she carries the cream gene but I think she would be great to breed since she carries a dominant agouti gene and sooty - for the darker pigmentation.

This lovely lady is a perfect foundation mare. If either mare tickles your fancy send me a pm.

Since the link to my barn doesn't seem to work: I have some grays, a Blackest Night stallion, a bay splash mare, White wedding mare and a wet n wild mare.

@KerredansCorral Thanks for the suggestions. Dark bay splash would be a great Cydesdale look. I don't necessarily need that though. I love looking at graying horses; that's why I'd like some in my lines.

@Ritsika I thought I didn't want cream, but seeing your mare I think I might need it :D Perhaps I could do only bay and black (since I already have a chestnut line) horses with some cream in there too. Oh, and a white pattern like splash.

Hey, I've got some 2nd gen grey and black mares I could part with, if you're interested. I'm trying to cut down on my numbers anyway, so here's a list. The only ones I wouldn't let you have are the two from Beorn, who was a limited edition stud, and I'm not sure I can sell those. :)

@RoseFlute I've got two foals by Beorn myself, so I understand you :) I'm interested in all three of those black mares though. They'd be perfect to breed to the stallion I got from MoonAcre. How much do you want for them?

I am doing sort of a Shire look too with DP Sooty+ agouti and splash (and a little champagne). My foundation is a warmblood I'm breeding to heavy mares, but when you're ready for 2nd gen I may have a stud for you, and maybe a mare or two.

If you're looking for some black splash, I would be happy to send you straws or sell you fillies from this guy. I started my line with this guy and Beorn and a pasture full of black mares....get my first gen 2 crosses this season! Can't wait!

@Abbey Road Thank you, I'll keep you in mind when I get there :) I'm definitely interested in sooty+ one day if you'd have something for sale/stud.

@Cheers I'd very much like straws from your guy; he's gorgeous! How many are you willing to sell and what do you want for them? He was one of the "one season only" studs together with Beorn, right? Or, who of his daughters would you be willing to part with? There are so many beauties in there!

@RoseFlute I'll get them all for the prices you listed :) My internet's been down recently so I need to rely on the wifi at work. I'll probably be on between 11 am-2pm game time if you can get them up by then. Or else we can agree on another time, if you don't have buddy sale, that is.

@Salvistar If you put up the splashes or sabinos I'll definitely make sure to get a breeding or two from them. So pretty!

Hey Orchestra! I will do straws at 1k each, just let me know how many you want. I would be willing to sell, say, 5 fillies? Just PM me a list of your choices and we can go from there! And yes, he was also available for one season when I got him. Next season most of my guys will be available for private treaty or straws if they aren't available for public breeding....at which point I'm going to have to actually work out prices on all of them! So y'all get in while I'm still letting them go cheap!
