What do you class as lined breeding?
-
So discussing with another member I am curious what your class as 1st, 2nd, 3rd gen breeding?
So I class a foundation bred horse a zero gen, one set of parents is first gen (like below horse)
ATouchOfStarCannon 1G
But said member classs foundation horses as 1st Gen, I’m going through and updating my barns and was wondering what you class Star cannon (one set of parents) so I’m looking for the right horses to breed with because if you guys class star as a 2nd gen I’m not finding the right horses in sales for my lines.
Another question with uneven breeding this mare below is 3 parents on her mothers side and 2 on her shires, alothoug she is spayed what gen would be able to produce the most likely intact foal?
ATOG PacoCider SP
Thank you I’m advance for any help。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆ ID #: 47760 。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆

The Breeder's Clubs counts generations as foundations with no "known" parents as gen 1. Your Star Cannon would be a 2nd generation. Although many people use different perspectives, since that is how the game counts, that is how I count in-game.

Fantastic well I’ll update my stables to say that on their name :)。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆ ID #: 47760 。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆

ATouchofStarCannon is definitely 2nd gen - most people would say the same here.
PacoCider could be called anything from 6th to 3rd gen uneven. In my barns she would be called 3rd gen uneven as that is what her quality would be (so as I can work out who best to breed her to - if she was intact - I would breed to 3rd gen B stallion) but others would call her 6th gen uneven as that is the number of lines she has in her pedigree. Many would snip her and use as show pony only even if she had not already been snipped. :)

Even bred foundies are Gen 1 (I usually don't label them in their names because they are foundies and I know it). From there it is G2 for their progeny and so on and so forth. My "uneven" herd I personally mark their generation like Chilli does as to me uneven is uneven so they just get a UE in front of their names in my herd but they are also only intended for me to do in house breeding to try make good show ponies.Dabbler in EVERYTHING.

I use my even bred numbering like others—foundations are gen 1, their offspring are gen 2 and so on. My uneven bred horses are mostly bootstraps, and I’m not concerned about their generation at all, just their paper level, so don’t bother to even look at it. Thankfully they go in their own barn and pastures, so I don’t have to worry about their naming structure.
As for PacoCider, she’s papered Red. For me, that means she would go in my gen 2 herd somewhere to be bred to a low A stallion. You could theoretically breed her (or something similar and intact) to anything from a high C (perfect foundation or TNP quality) up to a low A (A papered even gen 2) and have a decent chance of intact foals, especially with pasture bonus. I know some people strongly advocate breeding similar papers to each other and would tell you to breed her to any B stallion. Your other option with any uneven mares you might have would be to use them to bootstrap, so breed them to the very highest Stars you can get a hold of (lots are up for stud relatively cheaply in the Bootstrap Chat room) and get some nice show ponies that way.Thanked by 1ATouchOfGenetics -
Fantastic thank you, for the help I currently use bootstraps for show pony’s so I might throw my mares and stallions together to get a high pt show pony :) thank you。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆ ID #: 47760 。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆

Yeh for me if they are un-even then they are no generation really, just un-even. I have a few bootstrap horses and they'd just go in there to produce show horses if I didn't spay them straight offThanked by 1ATouchOfGenetics

In my barn if they were that uneven they go in the bootstrap barn if I like their coloring with the code BS before them. She would not get a space in my pasture though as that is very limited (unfortunately!) :)Breeding brown/liver/black with white spotting drafts. If you ever fancy straws PM me. PM me if you need help with GE.Thanked by 1ATouchOfGenetics
