I've started using comparison testing to narrow down my forever expansive stallion herd lol. I understand keeping colts that are superior to their sire. My question though is then how to you compare siblings?

For example, you have two colts by the same sire. Both are superior to the sire. But when you test them against each other they are both "about as good as". Do you expect them to be the same, or is one "worse" than the other since it didn't test superior?

If they're both superior to sire and then are 'about as good as each other' then I'd take them to be similar quality. If one tests superior to the other, then that one is better.

Before I begin it is important to know that I breed even generation. I purposely have two stallions right now that I use as benchmarks. I have a A papered 2nd generation stallion. All my 2nd generation stallions must be B papered or higher and they all must compare "as good as" when compared to him. My next benchmark stallion is a 5th generation star. All my 5th generation stallions must be A papered or better and all must compare "as good as" to him. I don't even bother comparing those generations with their sir. It doesn't matter what herd the stallion comes from. If they fall with either of those two generations they get tested, compared and then filed into either the breeding herd or the show herd.
