Egg/embryo question
-
No, You need a Premium, I think. I think basic can implant purchased embryos (?) But not make them. I'd double check, though, to be sure.

I believe a basic can make an embryo by using a straw and mare rather than a straw and egg.ID 45703 | he/himOpen barn policy - no closed lines! I'm always selling straws and eggs from anything I have that catches your eye, don't hesitate to PM me and ask!

Basic account can use embryos but not eggs
-
@Confluence--It is possible to create an embryo using a straw. Here is the first way listed in the ABSL.Welcome to the ABSL's embryo transfer laboratory. This facility impregnates a mare using a straw. The resulting fertilized embryo is then harvested and placed in cold storage for implantation in for the future. This process costs 8,000 hb's. Additional fees will be charged during implantation and foaling.
I believe this option is open to Basic Upgrades, and is what it means when the list of Basic Upgrade features mentions embryos.
I just used this method to produce this foal, just to test it out.

@SandyCreekFarm Thanks for explaining in more detail. @ConfluenceFarms that’s what I meant - it goes straight to embryo when you do it, so there’s no way to harvest or save the egg, just the embryo (aka you still have to own the mare). It’s also more expensive.ID 45703 | he/himOpen barn policy - no closed lines! I'm always selling straws and eggs from anything I have that catches your eye, don't hesitate to PM me and ask!

It's hard going back to the basic upgrade once you've had the premium for so long. I keep wanting to do things I can no longer do since dropping down to the basic upgrade.
I went to pull an egg this morning, and realized I can no longer do that. :( -
@MistStables that's why I allow myself the $7.50 monthly premium membership because it really is a reasonable amount to keep me sane lol. In exchange however, I don't allow myself to spend a penny extra...so no closed genes for me but it's a fair trade-off I think...and it's a rule I can keep. The only one that was terribly tempting was chinchilla because my absolute favorite real-life color on a horse is a dark dapple gray and the chin really captured that, but I managed to resist!BREEDING DARKNESS (ok black liver but it sounds cooler)
