Trouble breeding for pure black?
-
So I've been trying to breed for pure black, but EVERY foal in the past couple of months has had some white on them, even with EE and WF: None.

Am I missing something? Where is the white coming from?
It's almost always the left front leg, too. I would wonder if it's an image glitch, but I have brown and chestnut drafts that don't have white there.
I have not bred a pure black horse since May. All last month and this month (ok, breeding just opened but I did my whole black pasture today) every horse has SOME white, often in that left front leg and nowhere else.
I have a dream of building up a herd of enormous black shadow horses, but the white feet are foiling my plans! Any help would be appreciated. -
I would think you can probably reroll the images to find one without whiteBreeding even generation Grullos with Ice

Hang on a minute!
I just clicked on the portraits of some of my 2 year olds with this problem and their updated full-grown image is pure black.
On The Grill had a foal photo like the one above, but when she regenerated as an adult:

And the same was true for several others. So maybe there IS some kind of image issue for pure black draft foals?
Only ones that only have the left foreleg white regenerate as pure black. If there is white anywhere else -- right foreleg, hind legs, face -- that white stays put when the horse's image is refreshed. -
@Bandit1119 maybe you are right? Though the fact that it's only left foreleg that disappears seems odd to me.

Could be a weird coincidence? LolBreeding even generation Grullos with Ice

Well, I guess it's something to keep an eye on. If all my foals with only left foreleg white turn out pure black on re-roll, I will be right on track!
I guess it's something to look forward to testing next month. Usually it takes me a while to re-roll the black foal images (because look! Another black horse!). :D -
You haven't put any Big Floof tack pack feathers on the 2 year olds, have you?
-
I picked up a batch of Blackest Night foals and had the same thing. All foals had that white left foreleg but when they aged up it disappeared and they were solid black. I assume it is a glitch in the artwork.ID# 47364
Breeding for all version of black drafts using chimera foundations.
Help me build my black brindle army!
Always looking to buy B/Red foundation brindle drafts in black, blue roan, grullo, classic champagne, etc.
I can be very scatterbrained and forgetful so if I don't get back to you in a decent amount of time just poke me. -
No tack packs -- I usually wait until they age up to think about tack. (Plus I don't own Big Floof yet, alas.)
@BlackWyld -- I'm glad to know you see it too! Nice to know I'm not imagining things. :D
I can totally live with that if it's a known thing. I just was getting really frustrated that none of my breedings were panning out! -
I've had it too! Remember that cunning tiny Cob colt I got? Inky black except for up the back of his left fore. I peeked in on him recently and he's solid black now, at least as far as the artwork allows us to see.

I've seen this on other colors, i'm sure. Although i can't pick out any specific horses.#28036

I've seen this on a lot of my draft foals. I would just reroll them as adults if they keep the white. Like everyone else has said a lot of mine "grow out of it"----

I am very forgetful so if I owe you anything but am taking to long please send me a PM. I don't get on to play the game as often as I once did but I am usually most active during the 2nd and 3rd week of each month
