Speaking as someone who has inadvertently done that, if you change the horse's name to the buyer when you post it, for example "For BlackWyld", most will leave it alone. And if they buy anyway, usually if you message someone and tell them you put the horse up for someone else they will sell it back or pass it to the right person. :)

I run a lot of sales searches and find horses put up publicly that I buy, and I've accidentally bought one meant for someone else a couple times. One time I was told what happened and I fixed it, the other I didn't know for like a week until someone mentioned it to me and then I felt horrible. lol

The difference in timezones doesn't help, being from Australia I tend to be online when other people are off, and then miss out when it gets quite busy. So it often takes me awhile to get back to messages and things like that.
But I'll try and remember to rename the horse next time if it's for a particular person!
