The horse has reached the limit of its training.

Horses usually level off roughly when their age is around their PT score. A horse will still continue to train and increase their show score but the score won’t raise as fast as it used to and will eventually taper off to earning less than 1 point per training session.

I rarely cull horses on my main account anymore but when I was needing space I’d look through the leveled off horses first to see where they are placing.

If they are consistently in the middle of the class they will most likely be good until they age out picking up more points as they go.

Horses that level off at the top of their class may earn enough points to move up to the next round but often won’t earn enough to be competitive at that new level.

Horses that are consistently placing last in their class are not earning more points and may be better off being sold back to the game (if they are not really helping increase your daily show bonus and can be replaced by a younger horse with the same or more points) or moved to a non showing barn if they have a significant amount of points.
