I have a cute dun, tobiano, Splash colt that was just born this am. So yeah been up since 3:30am gonna have a fun day trying to stay awake. I havent picked out a name yet but he looks just like his grandsire who is named Lakota so I thought his reg name would have Lakota in it. His grandsire is Skylight's Lakota Warrior and his mom is Skylight's Lakota Love Song.

Maybe Skylights Lakota Siege or " Lakota Charge? Could just do Skylight's Song of the Lakotas

Congrats on the new addition to the herd! I agree, I really like Skylights Song of the Lakotas! Depending on the registry, just keep an eye on the character limit. I know the majority of registries are around 20-25 (AQHA is 20, APHA is 21). Can't wait to see pictures of your fellow! <3

Thanks guys. We had a bit of a fiasco. Mom didnt have any milk so it was a very long drawn out day. He seems to be okay now. I hope that we got colostrum in him in time.. Vet will do an IG test tomorrow to make sure. He sure is pretty! I dont know if this photo link will work or not. He's on FB.

Really cute colt! Congrats! Until mom's milk decided to come in, try feeding him goat's milk from a bottle or a bucket in addition to nursing. I've saved a couple orphans that way, and it's an easy to get supplement until mom has enough milk. :)

So far new boy is doing good. Gonna call him Sarge as a barn name.

Vet came again today to do some blood work on him. She's going to send me the results when she gets it. He does have a slightly swollen fetlock on one back leg. Hoping its nothing... He seems to get around fine.
