I have foundation mares in there. How do you all choose which ones to put in? I know it is random. This is my first time breeding with a premium account but wondering how did you all decide?

I'm afraid I don't decide. I have a small 10 pasture and I move the ladies over in small groups so I get to choose who gets bred with who. :D
(You can transfer between pastures without losing your bonus.)

I'll be curious about what people say, though!

I have several small pastures that have specific reasons for the mares to be in them RS, Dangerous Whites (W1, W2, Frame), and one I am just starting with my FF and Macchiato mares to work on a Liver/DP/Macchiato/Appy line. The rest of the mares just hang out in the big pastures and get switched into another small one to be bred just like @GeneverGinger does.

I have my primary pasture I actually use for breeding. My other 5pastures are where I "store" the mares until I'm ready to breed them. I have 3 lines going on right now; livers, macc, and my new kpline. So, I have my pastures labeled as pasture A-E. I chose which mare I want in which pasture based on what line I'm using them for.

So, my macchiato line is in "pasture A". When I'm ready to breed them, I transfer all "pasture A" horses (labeled: "PA 1mc _____") into my primary pasture. breed them, then move them back to their pasture.

I just keep doing that until all my lines are bred.

I have jist a primary and a 30 acre pasture. So should I have done it the other way around.

Last month I rotated 1/3 of my foundation mares through for a weeks bonus and had 2 studs per group. Then on the 27th threw each generation in to breed and remove before rollover.

I don’t particularly care if I get large amounts of show horses so I’m not overly picky about pasture bonus or matching papers although I do periodically go through my barns (one for each generation of studs and mares, foundations are now in 2 lol) and snip the lowest paper level of the higher papers are becoming the majority.

But I’ve learned to celebrate snipping my Show Horses because the more show horses I have, the more money in the bank, and the more fancy open genes I can purchase for game money to introduce back into my herd
