For my first foal of the season I combined an egg from my homozygous pearl mare with a hom pearl straw I had just to see what happens (I've never done any of the advanced breeding stuff before. lol) and this is the result.

This filly is the most uneven breeding I've done so I'm scared to do breeding advice, but not doing it makes me feel like I'm cheating or something. I might sell her just so someone else can decide! :))

@BurntHillManor Brindle is a mutation so even with 2 Brindle parents your aren't guaranteed a Brindle.
I bred a Brindle guy from 2 non Brindle parents, it's just a random thing :D

@JustaSaddletramp it's called bootstrapping! Lol, I've got more non-BA fillies than BA'd ones. The fact that she turned out blue papered is awesome, I've been getting so many reds from my yellow/star crosses. She's gorgeous!

I too went for my Dance Between Two Oceans straw... She didn't pass BA, alas (and I *was* careful about the mare I used... luck just wasn't on my side).

Thanks, @Lallyhop! I was surprised at the blue paper too, I haven't bred many of those. lol I've still got a few straws from her sire to use later though, so I'm hoping. :D

She's not a fancy color, but I feel like she's a good start to the season. Passed BA and papered Red. Plain Bay wrapper and all, I'm very pleased with her.

While I'm not totally devastated she was spayed (I'm breeding for height as well as color).. I just wanted to use her for her color

Well I was hoping she would have a better PT, but baby girl is hom sty, hom KitM and hom splash! And she's gonna be Soo tall! I'll keep her around for a while and see how she does with higher studs cause she just has too much going on I don't wanna run BA on her yet..
