Egg/straw question
-
I'm not planning on doing much GMT work yet, but I do have a question for when I get around to it.
If I pull a straw/egg from a stallion/mare, and that straw/egg stays in my freezer, am I allowed to still GMT the horse? If so, once GMT'd, does the straw carry the original genes, or will it update with the GMT?
Additionally, it says no "living" foals. Does that mean if I sell the only foal of a stallion back to the game, that I will be able to then GMT him, despite the fact that he has had a foal?ID 45703 | he/himOpen barn policy - no closed lines! I'm always selling straws and eggs from anything I have that catches your eye, don't hesitate to PM me and ask! -
I don't know about the straws/eggs, but yes on the foals. If you sell back to game or they get deleted via auction, then they are eligible for gmt again, assuming they fit the other requirements.#28036

I believe if straws or eggs are pulled they cannot be GMTd. I bought a RS conversation Hearts stallion that had straws pulled and I was unable to GMT him. He had not had any foals.

Once you pull eggs/straws the horse is no longer GMTable.

Thanks! I assume if I sold the straws/eggs back to the game, the horse would once again become GMTable?ID 45703 | he/himOpen barn policy - no closed lines! I'm always selling straws and eggs from anything I have that catches your eye, don't hesitate to PM me and ask!

I think if there is only 1 straw/egg you are fine, mostly because when the change gender came in people could pull a heap of straws and they could be used as eggs. Foals from eggs/straws get whatever the genetics are when the foal is made
Edit, I just pulled an egg from a mare and I could still gmt her -
Interesting! Thanks for the experiment :)ID 45703 | he/himOpen barn policy - no closed lines! I'm always selling straws and eggs from anything I have that catches your eye, don't hesitate to PM me and ask!
