Horse Breed Name Changes
-
I don't know where to go to ask. I have a breed name in mind I would love to use, but do I ask for approval here, or is there another thread I can't find?
-
I still can't find a thread. I want to change the breeds name from National, to Manamana. Can I use that or not?
-
It is not a common English word. (I just checked the online Merriam-Webster dictionary. :D) Therefore, I would say that there is no reason why you can't use it.
In fact, the rules for creating breed names are listed on the page where you create the name. Other than making sure that it's a single word, not the name of any real breed, and not a common English word, you don't have to ask permission from anyone to use what you have in mind.De gustibus non disputandum. I just didn't want it to get removed for some reason, and it said to ask on the forum if I had any doubts or questions. I went ahead and changed it, thank you. :D
-
How do you change a breed name? Ive been wondering that for a while now
-
Breed Names
Horses owned by Free Account members will have ‘National’ as their breed name and then the body type of the horse (National Warmbloods, National Riding Pony, National Draft Horse, Etc).
When you buy an upgrade you can select your own breed name. It is important that breed names be unique and purely fictional.
You may not use the name of real places or things, or the name of existing breeds
Common words are not allowed, so no ‘Wonderful’ Warmbloods, or ‘Desirable’ Drafts.
If you don’t know if a name is allowed, simply ask on the Forum, or the Facebook Pages, other players will probably enjoy helping you find just the right name.
If a breed name is discovered that does not meet the criteria that name will be removed without notice.
Sorry, I had to copy and paste. I found it in the FAQ User Guide.
Hope this helps,

There goes the last shred of my sanity! I will never get that ear worm out of my head!
It fits all the criteria that I know about! Don't know why it would not be allowed! Well, except for the earworm factor! -
I am so happy that name wasn't taken. :))

How you set up a breed name. I just recently got a basic upgrade
-
Got to your stable home page. Under Upgraded Features you will find Manage Stable Settings. The second option is Update My Breed name. Check the requirements carefully to make sure your chosen name isn't on the forbidden list. There's also a bit about what you can use in the FAQ. http://hj2.huntandjump.com/faq.php#594De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
