I think its great to lower the price on expros and rs! That way new players can afford them, and thus improving the quality of horses on the market!

I lean the other direction, I'm hoping it will bring RS prices more in line with "regular" horses. High-end, absolutely, they are Special, but maybe not 40k baseline.

Well, won't there be a lot more players around? We're just past 45 thousand players last month, and Ammit will advertise a lot during the summer, so I think we'll be okay.

@CrewCut, I think the baseline for RSs has been more like 20k. Though it will be helpful for newer players to afford them, it'll also mean selling them will be less for new players, and I've seen a lot of barn funds gathered this way in holiday seasons. :)

I think it's an excellent feature. I just went back through the list. There weren't that many RS that were in the HH that have been shared. There were many Rank 5, but I think that's a good thing. It gives the new players a chance at having some quality horses in their breeding programs. Ammit is trying to help out the new players. I'm sure this is one of the ways she is doing that. I'm thankful for it. I know it's going to help out my breeding programs. I still haven't hit an RS, but I'm hoping to. I think bringing the prices more in line might be a good thing.

I'll still use Rank 1-3 if it's a colour or pattern I want. For example, Dark Chestnut is Rank 1 but I still use them for Livers.

Freaky Friday still only comes out on Friday the 13th, there are many others that only come out on special days, so there might be some that come down in price. Is it not fair to give the new players a chance at some nicer stock with some really cool colors?

I don't think they will really go down that much. New players may be able to snag the herd helpers now, and most likely older players (or players with cash - like me) will still be willing to pay more for them.

And everyone has an equal chance at snagging a forum share, nothing skews that in favor of newbies.
I have color goals, although I don't ignore quality. If a herd helper that promises me a color DNA profile that will further my breeding, I'll grab it, Rank 1 or 5. And if a Rank 1 goes unused, who does it harm? If someone wants bonus creates, they need only share and ask that someone click it, someone will open the link even if they don't need the HH.

I paid for a basic upgrade so I could paper one day before everyone was allowed to paper. You win some, you lose some.

Let's try not to get too too upset about pixel ponies, shall we? Ammit is doing her best to create a game that older players will still enjoy, but newer players have a chance at.

Breezy, papering is still unavailable for free accounts. Do you mean you paid for a Premium upgrade?

I don't think it'll affect the price very much. It's only five rerolls, and you only get 3 horses total out of it, including the share.

I know I'll still use the 1-3 creates as well. I breed for liver, bay, and appy. So I still seek out the creates that help me to get those colors. Love when the wild bays pop up. I try to snag those as often as I can.

Breezy, it might have been the price changes. They used to be 1500 for colts, 2500 for mares only after 3 foals. :P Oh, and performance testing was opened to free accounts. I think.

I can't keep up. I just learned that papering was free for altered horses.
I always had Performance Inspection available as a free account.
Which prices changed?

This was ages ago, Fellabella, but once upon a time papering horses was separate for different genders. The they were changed to just 1000hb across the board and you could paper mares from birth, which you couldn't do before. If you have papering available, it is free for altered horses, yes. It's been the same ever since. :D

RS are WAY over valued for nothing but a color. If someone paid a ton of money for nothing but a pretty color that was their choice and on them. I think it will be a good thing for the prices to come down. And really what does it matter if you make 10k on 5 RS horses or 50k on one. Same in the end. Let's people start lines easier too. Better for everyone I think.

Definently will lower the prices. This was also my thought.. but at the end of the day everyone stresses how making your money is in showing horses! Perhaps the lower prices they get will encourage people to keep them and show them more.

I think this change is going to be better in the long run.
I already try to help newer players out when I can with RS. I make my hbs by 'showing' every horse that is not in pasture for that bonus. I don't think this is going to change things that much. It will just make it a little easier for some of the newer players that haven't built up a show herd.
When I have the extra hbs, I will sometimes pay for up to 20 or 30 'Buy A New DHH' to get some of the more popular RS (mostly Ex Perf's and Ex Pro's).
I always share them, and if someone misses out, I let them know I created an extra or two, that I will sell for a little above create price, so they can afford them. This seems like a better way to help them get better quality foundations for them to start with.

I agree - think it will level things a little. Plus it is super fun and always gives you something to do when there is still snow outside and you can't play with your RL horses :)
