Didn't want to hijack Duelinghawks great contest. But CircleSranch thought they knew why he didn't produce his mane. What did you think was heterozygous ? I'm trying to re-produce this colour now , love it !! [I was trying for the firey red of both his parents]

Any pointers Please and Thank you.

Flaxen has a range of expressions, from a pale white like your boy to a fiery red. I believe that you can reroll the horses portrait until he comes up with the flaxen colour you want.

He's not het for anything. Keep throwing sooty/DP mares at him until one sticks. Or yes, if you have Hbs to burn, you can reroll portraits on foals and see if any get the lighter mane and tail.

Het. Means the horse has one dominant gene and one recessive gene within a pair. (Ee)

homo the genes are the same (EE or ee)

Maybe if you breed to mares with really light manes/tails like these, you'd have a better chance at manes/tails like your boys? I know color can change a little when rerolling images, but not sure how much.

Flaxens have lots of different manes they could get. Now I want to breed a light maned black liver chestnut with pangry on my other account now. Would you be interested in selling straws?

He's a stunner. My other account (Chilli) has a lot of liver flaxens but they generally have bright orange manes/tails. I might try some rerolling on one of them :)
