He is het Ice 1. That means he carries one copy of the Ice 1 gene. There is 1:4 chance of producing an ice offspring when bred to a noncarrier. If bred to het, there is a 1:2 chance to express the gene. If bred to a hom (two copies), there would be 1:1 chance of expression.

Ice is luckily a gene that expresses and does not sit hidden like say kp, or snowflake. They either have it...or they don't. There are many forms, Ice 1-14. All of which have different patterns. Some are private owned genes, and some are public. If you click the gene code on the animal's page, each code will pop open a little bit of info to read.

I'm sure someone else will pipe up and add or correct my info. I'm by no means an expert... Just a fan. I believe I only have Ice 1, 5, and 8 in my herd currently.

Rubyjofarm, just wanted to point out that a het Ice1, have a 50 % chance of passing on the Ice gene, not 25%. He will either pass the Ice1 or the i, and as Ice only needs one copy to show, there is a 50% chance :)
