Is it possible to add more stalls to an existing barn rather than purchasing a new barn?

You can add stalls to your Primary barn, but you have to create a BUNCH of horses to get one. Other than that, no.

You can trade in a barn for credit towards the purchase of a larger barn, or add one stall at a time to your Primary by creating a lot of horses.
