It's good to feel I'm somewhere in the middle - I am 50 next month - might do a little celebrate/giveaway thing just before the day. Can't do it on the day as I will be on holiday - yay - can't wait :)

Chat Speak example, 'u' instead of 'you.' Major abbreviations like that for a regular sentence. Some of us don't know what is being typed. It is just easier to read and understand if it is all typed out.

Abreviations that we use in the game are OK. Like, KP, GP, W2, or any of the others used in the genes. And use correct capitalization and punctuation as well.

I turned 22 in October!
i started playing this game in October 2nd of 2015. I had played the game several times before as a "kid" and never got the point of it. i rediscovered the game and bought myself an upgrade and barns as a birthday present to myself! Ive been playing ever since.

its weird to think about how much time has passed between now and then. even the game has had so many improvements.

I'm 18-19 in March of this year. Oddly enough (or maybe not) this game reminds me of my real-life obsession with breeding and raising chickens. I currently have 43 birds and haven't even started hatching for this year yet...

My son tries to text me with “Chat Speak”, I either respond with “excuse me?” Or “Please try again”.
I understand it but don’t think it’s a good habit to get into :)) (Starting to feel like an old fuddy duddy) :p

Call me crazy but I love "chatspeak". I am not young, but I am a linguist. The evolution of living languages and the way the emergence of new technology influences those changes fascinates me.

Chatspeak is certainly not the first time lazy has changed the way we communicate. Lazy has had a massive influence on how we communicate for millennia. Chatspeak is just an evolving dialect.

Is English Changing?

Doesn't mean I am going to advocate for allowing chatspeak to be used here. It's just, sometimes I think in our modern society where everything is recorded and preserved and information is so easily disseminated that we feel we have to lock things in, that something like language has a right and a wrong and we all have to adhere to the rules and it will never change. The truth is that language is and always has been an ever changing construct. The change isn't inherently bad, or wrong, and it can not be stopped.

Sorry for the off topic soapboxing, but I just love language and linguistics.

I'm 20, turning 21 in a couple months! Surprising to see the age distribution on here- but maybe I'm so used to games that do have younger people on them. The maturity of this community is wonderful. :) Definitely different from other games!

Just turned 27 this week. It's weird to be getting so close to 30. Usually when people ask me how old I am the first number that pops into my head is 21.

I do enjoy that this is a more adult marketed game. It gives me something to do in my down time besides silly games on the ipad that are definitely not for the adult mind.
