Do grandfoals affect the LB?

So I am just wondering if grandfoals (I don't know the actual term for it) can affect the top producing stallion leaderboard. Because I have a stallion (Scorpius) who normally is about 9 or 10 on the splash leaderboard but this month went up to 4 and I thought maybe it was because he had a son come of age and do fairly well. He didn't throw any spectacular foals this year so that's not a reason.
