Can't register a horse in a breeding club?

I recently made one of my foundation stallions KP but it won't let me put him in the breeders club? I know for a fact that I put two copies on him.

Roan and tobiano can also be good ideas as they have a very low chance of producing lethal foals

You could dump all the foals and then would be able to but I don't think it's a huge deal.
