This is something I should have figured out by now lol! Most of the time I can figure it out, but for horses that are more than 4G I get confused. How do y'all calculate horse generations?

Foundations are gen1, so the first cross foals are gen2 etc. So the foals from two gen4 horses would be gen5

It's also easiest to put the number of generation in the horse name, to keep track of them all.
