Baby it's cold outside!
  • The new year is starting off with below average temperatures here! It's -4, winchill in the -20's F. What's your temperature? Are you warm? :D

  • We're at 5 above, probably the heat island effect! :P

  • 25° F, which seems balmy compared to -4°. We have a stiff breeze going on as well, so I have the dead horse effect going on.

The dead horse effect is when it is so cold and windy horses pretend to be dead, ignoring panicky shouts of "are you okay!?" from the kitchen door, forcing you to go outside in the cold to find out the horse(s) are fine.

  • It’s 50 here, but that’s pretty cold for Florida, so all the horses have their blankets on and are staying warm :P
  • ... It's -45 Celsius here with wind. Lol. :-((

  • -10F (-23c). It was -30f to -40f with windchill. To cold with babies in the barn.

  • -41C here to cold for my liking but I’m used to it. To cold to even ride in the arena.
  • 5°C here, that means something about 40°F, am I right?...we have a warm winter. I heard there will be no snow this season.
Anyway, last year true freezing and snowy winter came in February, so there's still some hope ;)

  • Baby it's hot outside for me...well, it was on new years day. I was stewarding for a dog show that day, and it was 32 degrees Celsius! That's 89.6 Fahrenheit. Luckily had tons of sunscreen do didn't get burned, but all of the dogs were basically wilted when it was time for best on parade.

  • For the last 4 days our highs have not gotten above -10F with windchills into the -35F to -40F. At night our lows are in the -20's to -30's.

The horses are all bundled up in their blankets and going through hay like no tomorrow.
  • Ireland's temperatures are being bizarre. It's been jumping between being 10-12 degrees Celsius (50-54 Fahrenheit) and being close to freezing (20s and 30s Fahrenheit). The former would be very warm for this time of year and would be more the type of weather we'd expect in April or September, the latter is as cold as it really gets in Ireland. It is very unusual for it to remain below freezing for 24 hours at a time.

Those of you who go below 0 Fahrenheit, I have no idea how ye live. We had one really cold winter in 2010 where it went down to about -12 Celsius or about 10 degrees Fahrenheit. I never want to experience that cold again (and I doubt I will; it was suggested it may have been the coldest since the early 17th century).
  • -18C here. Way too old for me. My body does not handle the cold well. If I didn't have a kid I would probably be in Australia for work right now. They had +41C right before christmas. lol.

  • I live in Norway, btw. Freakin winter wonderland. Yuck.
