Aging and training vs Points and profit
-
Do foals get bettwe as they age? How about with training? or does a foal who is loosing profit always in the negative?
-
Ok, I don't understand this as well as some of the senior players, but this is my understanding.
All horses in the game will improve to some degree with every training session they have until they level off. How much they improve and when they level off is a factor of their training ability, performance test and showing ability, most of which are hidden numbers we will never know. In general higher generation foals will gain scoring ability faster than foundations and lower gens, thus achieving entry into higher level classes before leveling off and potentially higher point gain.
Horses gain points and win profits in shows based on where they place in that show. Every horse gains some points except for the one that places last. Where you place in any given class is mostly a function of luck--you might have a consistent horse place 5/5 and 1/5 in the same week just because of which horses they compete against.
Foals cannot be trained and they can only be entered in level 1L classes, which have 2 horses in them. Basically it's a coin flip every show...culling foals simply based on profit from foal classes wouldn't give you a true picture of their ability, but it is my understanding that some people look at their foals' scores in early shows and make decisions based on that.
Remember a horses profit/loss on their page doesn't take into account whatever they have contributed to your weekly showing bonus.
