Hello! If you are new to the game, welcome to this awesome community! I have noticed a lot of activity from new players recently. Those of us who’ve been around here long enough to have a good grasp of how everything works are very happy to help out with show ponies, nice starter brood stock, and most importantly, tips and advice! We’ve already made all the mistakes and you can benefit from our blunders!

Established players, if you are interested in adopting a newbie (or two or three) please drop a comment.

If you are a new account, or if you are just now starting to get real active in the game and would like help sorting everything out and a leg up, please leave a comment and one of our established players will adopt you and show you the ropes. There are many ways to enjoy this game - establishing your own lines, competing in era and color clubs, stallion futurities… Tell us your interests and goals for your stable if you already have ideas, and if you don’t know yet we can help you find direction.

Participating will have the added benefit of helping some of you new guys get enough forum activity to be eligible to participate in the upcoming summer HaJ gift exchange which can potentially help propel you forward even further.

@Duven I am probably more likely to be auctioned to the meat man than adopted but there is always hope. I could be taken in as a rescue.

Happy to adopt. I've got show stock coming out of my ears and I clear out a big group of breeding stock at the end of each month. Unfortunately, this month's are already on their way through the auctions, but I'll have more next month.

I can be a mentor! My barn is medium sized, I think, but I've got loads of show babies I could let go and quite a few young studs that could be futurity eligible (descendants of previous winners). I'm decent with strategy and navigating the site as well so I could help answer questions with that stuff. :)

I thought I would line out my current plans and see who thinks they have similar goals. I know you all will be great mentors but it might help if you know what nutty ideas I have. Or that might make you say I'm a bit much! 8-}

My color projects are black satin and a liver project.
I've got a little x, ice 9, ice 19, and mu mixed in for funsies.
My big pasture is a bootstrap project. This is mostly turning white spotted and sabino.
I'm trying my best to stay in sport pony size but have a respectable amount of warmblood bleeding in to the herd.
I'm trying to even breed on my color projects.

This would be a great help! I’ve been bumbling along for 3-4 months and am only starting to understand a little bit on the mechanics. I’m trying to breed high PT horses for my show herd and also a couple of gene lines that i’ve decided to try my hands on as a project, mainly belton, dark appaloosas with halo varnish and a baby i picked up from StormwoodFarms a while ago that’s super pretty but has genes that’s not too accessible for me yet like gray reduc and Sooty+. But for now my main problem is getting enough Hbs to continue breeding and buying barns to hold and build up my show herd so i get more bucks to play around with my tentative projects <:-P i’ll be grateful for any help i can get :D

@Shamroc I’m taking you in too, I have the top belton stallion and he also carries grey reduction so I can help with that. I also have tips on show growing I can pass along!

@Gracie3B, @Whipporwill - I think you guys have the most in game experience of anyone who has volunteered to mentor (I apologize if I’m mistaken on that at first glance)… @Minute has a little experience already from another server but would like retraining. Would one of you like to adopt them?

I need to go through my stock, but sure to have some kiddos who will be happy to have a new home! Id love to adopt someone, but Im also happy to link all the stock Im planning to move out and people can pick what they like most/ aligns most with their goals too! Work has been consuming a lot of my time lately so Im not able to be on hnj as 24/7 as I used to ;(

Oh my gosh yes, I would absolutely take an adoptee or three! I love helping out new players and it can be really tough to pick them out from alternate accounts of established players.
I feel like we need to have a list of available adoptees (amended to the original post) who have opted in though, it's going to get crazy trying to sort through all the comments.

Looks like everyone has been adopted, but for anyone looking for a mentor in the future here is my info :D

I have a descent show string so can help provide a starter herd or pointed and higher PT show horses.

My main focus is Riding Horses with programs for Silver Black, Silver Black Chinchilla, Liver Chestnut, Black Tobiano, Grullo, Buckskin, and eras 12, 13, and 14.

My Bootstrap herd is a mix of sizes and colors, though mostly WB at this point.

Been at a work conference, but also available to adopt any newbies that want a mentor.

I am basically overflowing with horses.

My main focus is light bones with dun and splash or sabino, heavy on the dun factor. Any era. (evenly bred lines and bootstrap/uneven lines). My onyx herd is heavy on the heavy bone.

Basically, if any newbie wants to hit me up for show ponies (whether they have a mentor of not), I am more than happy to pass some along. I got a lot of help when I was starting out and I love to pay things forward.

Since my work has been a bit crazy and I'm not around as much as I'd like - I picked a bunch of horses for newbies to pick from! I want to be sure that everyone who wants one gets one first, then we can go back for seconds etc. Hoping these kiddos are helpful, but do notice some of them have limited purple genes incase you don't yet have licenses. Ideally people w/o licenses can have dibs to the horses available to them <3 <br />

There's a handful of double * papered mares & stallions and I tried to make everyone a decent to good PT. If anyone decides to use stallions (from me or otherwise) for futurity, be sure to let us know and we will work to get them qualified!
