Pasture breeding bonus question

    Quick question for Haj folks more experienced than me
    When you put a mare in pasture and she’s been there for 30+ days, when you pull her out does the bonus immediately go away? Like, if I was to pull one out to use a straw on her, would it erase her bonus or would it still be attached to her during for that breeding? I would assume it gets tossed as soon as you pull them out of pasture/is only good for the pasture breeding but figured I’d check.

    I figured as such! it makes sense. Is it the same for regular breeding, like if I was to pull a mare out of pasture and then cover her with a stallion? Sorry for my curiosity haha

    Pasture bonus only works for mares being used in the pasture. If you pull the mare out and breed outside of the pasture, the bonus won’t work.

    Using a straw on a mare is not quite the same as live cover of any sort. I believe that you do get a small boost? It is no where near as good as a pasture bonus, but it is a bit better than just normal in-hand breeding.

    However, if you are just moving horses around, and move a pasture mare into a barn briefly, she doesn't lose her pasture bonus as long as she is back in a pasture before the nightly rollover.

    Thank you everyone! I was curious cause I pulled a mare out of pasture and she threw me a much better foal than before, might have been just luck so I figured I’d ask. Really excited for my foals this year, got great ones already!
