Question
  • Why does it feel like no one likes greys? Why is that?
  • They dilute out all the pretty genes we throw on our horses.

Honestly that’s why I called them all. I’m probably gonna start a grey bootstrap herd but it will hurt me to see all the pretty genes disappear.
  • I love them, but like Pestilenttempest said it does damper down some pretty visuals, at times. My Mesa has plenty non fantasy grays that I enjoy.
  • I want to keep my fantasy and grey lines separate but it just stinks not many have an interest in them. I love greys
  • I have an exclusively gray line. Any pattern goes, just have to be homozygous gray. I love them
  • I used to really like watercolor with gray, but it made me sad when all the color went away. I love snowflake, but it's an issue with that gene, too.
  • I hope more will be interested in greys so maybe we can get like flea bittens and others
  • I just personally think they don't look good on this game even when I had natural colors only. But now with fantasy they do cover up a lot
Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

  • I like grey in my Wrong Warp line, as they turn aqua, navy and then black. Pretty cool.

I would totally breed a grey line if they were a little more realistic—hyperpigmented foals, slowly greying out, with flea bitten or dappled or other grey patterns.

  • I like them but that's because they grew on me. I didn't initially like them that much for the same reasons other people mentioned but breeding a specifically gray line with no other pigment other than DP or sooty has been fun. Here are some of my faves (from other servers as my grays aren't on Forest). I recall seeing that grays will be getting an overhaul so they'll probably get more popular.

  • I don't mind greys at all but don't actively breed for them other than my love for Yule Log Ashes. I can't wait for when Ammit gets around to making them more dynamic.

I want to make a "unicorn" line that takes advantage of the greying process on black horses with Paintbrush Prism because I love the look of PBP on both black and white horses. For now I only have a few greys but am working on attempting it with horses with snowflake as they have a bit more of a dynamic change as they age.

Breeding for all version of black drafts using chimera foundations.
Help me build my black brindle army!
Always looking to buy B/Red foundation brindle drafts in black, blue roan, grullo, classic champagne, etc.

I can be very scatterbrained and forgetful so if I don't get back to you in a decent amount of time just poke me.
  • They are so pretty
  • Hopefully, I can work on gray soon. :)
