Feeling depressed
-
We just spent 450 on stuff we know we need and wont be able to get if we wait, as well as stocking our freezer. Guy I just want to remind you there are people who need things such as formula. We were lucky to find 3 cans that wic will cover however we had to grab pouches as well, which wic wont. We had to grab the last, damaged, box of pediasure in case we run out so the girls wont lose a ton of weight. We were never able to build our emergency kits because we never had the money. I'm really grateful that taxes came in or the girls would be SOL. theres no diapers. No wipes. No toilet paper. The baby clothes were picked clean. We had to buy the girls the Gerber organics because they are growing and need clothes and that's all they had. Please think of others when you're out there stocking things you dont necessarily need. Because there are others that need this stuff as much as you that cant be in line at the store when the trucks come in. And we need to be able to provide for our families too. Please just wash your hands and be smart about this.
Sincerely,
A mom worried about feeding her babies -
I would like to bring my big cup of tea, and share too. Today I got the phone call not to return to work for at least a week. Normally I wouldn't flinch at the loss of income, but hunny is having health issues and eating up his paid time off. We're taking the opportunity to just sort of stay in, but getting necessities is getting stupid. There were no paper products at Walmart this afternoon, and the fresh meat was just gone. I'm sort of at a loss. How is creating a shortage of soap helping anyone?45120

It's not! I'm so sorry your off of work! I'm so worried they are going to close the girls daycare because then one us will have to be too! We had scraps to choose from meat wise but I'll turn it into soup if I need to! I hope your hubby feels better soon :x

We’ve been avoiding most of the crazy in Idaho so far but I know it’s only a matter of time... grabbing some essentials while we still can. It’ll be tight on the budget but we’ll make it. This toilet paper nonsense is gonna drive me up a wall! Best wishes to everyone else, wash your hands and stay safe! :xID 45703 | he/himOpen barn policy - no closed lines! I'm always selling straws and eggs from anything I have that catches your eye, don't hesitate to PM me and ask!

It's getting harder and harder. People arent being smart about things. My boyfriend literally handed me his knife he carries "just in case" when he went to the bathroom and left me with the girls.

Be safe y'all! Sending prayers! :(
@Amgr1992 have you checked the status of your local food bank? MD food banks are apparently stocked but have no way to distribute as of about a week ago, which just seems weird.
We aren't bad off right now except my full time job puts me in constant contact with a lot of people and my family has high risk members. I can't take off from it unless forced to do so though because, with everyone staying put like they should, my petsitting season has tanked for the next month at least. Hopefully it will recover for the summer as it makes up a third of my income. Nothing to be done.
Finding anything at our Walmart has been stupid for years because their management doesn't know retail at all.
Thankfully we have a lot of small grocers and farmers markets in the area as well as the chain stores so while it takes some driving we can usually still find what we need. It reminds me of driving with a missionary friend around Haiti to buy supplies. So much better service! You don't even have to leave the car most of the time! LOL -
My internship ended early, which is great, I am done with college now... Not with all of this the job I had lined up stepping out with school got canceled, and so here I am dirt poor with all of this craziness... and I need to get a job, but not in the field I got a degree in because the schools are closed. I am working on filling out a job application at a nearby factory and find it hilarious that I graduated college to be a factory worker... but with all the earthquakes going on lets see if anyone will be hiring. 5 hours after the big one and another one just came... My boyfriend and I were talking about marriage during the summer, but with everything going on I am getting really scared that one of us might die before I can see him again middle of April if things keep escalating the wy they have... That amount of time keeps feeling longer and longer by the day. I don't know what to do.All into high quality black based primitive duns and bootstraps.

I'm so sorry you're going through this Wildland Acres! I found out on monday that if daycare shuts down I wont lose my job but will be expected to use any paid time off I may have and then use whatever is left of my leave without pay. I will not be paid. I really hope things turn around for you!
